It's hard to believe Chriss is up to 250 pounds. I believe Bender has the frame to carry more than 240 pounds. If they can play at this weight I expect they should be more effective. I too am excited.

Forget free agency, here comes the Suns!
He may very well be very close to 250 (at least it looks believable seeing photos/interviews). Granted it sounds like he feels he needs to get more toned and thus will probably shed a few of those pounds.

You don't want young guys adding too much weight too early IMO. Often times their knees might not be able to handle it. That's what Sam Bowie said happened to him.

I think Chriss can do it b/c he's naturally strong but Bender was a toothpick with skinny legs and already has injury issues.

I agree. Chriss will be shedding pounds heading into the season. Hopefully much of this weight turns into muscle.

I am very excited to watch this game tonight. I am really hoping Bender has improved. Also interested to see how Reed plays.

Also on ESPN, I'm getting ready to watch the debut of Alonzo Ball. It's the Lakers versus the Clippers.

This should entertain me until the Suns game starts.

This crowd is lousy with Lakers fans. It's crazy!

Ball has had a couple of moments but underwhelming so far. Not good when Marshall blows by you several times.

I have been most impressed with Ingram and Thomas Bryant so far...

Alonzo's brother Lonzo with a mediocre first half. Should have had more assists they missed some easy ones but pretty quiet half for him.

Did have the quintessential Lonzo Ball play early, missed shot the big gets the rebound passes to Lonzo who immediately fires it ahead to a guard who pumpfakes and then drives in for a layup. He probably didn't get an assist on it but the perfect example of what he does that helps a team win, he got the ball upcourt so quickly that even a standstill shooter was able to shot fake and drive for a layup.

Lonzo really struggling right now. Not looking to score (1-7, with an airball) and now two uncharacteristically sloppy turnovers to start the half.

Ball throws one successful alley oop and of course all the sports media sites are running front page headlines that "Showtime is back."

I will love seeing them fall on their faces this year.

I'm pretty excited to watch our squad. Actually going to watch a SUMMER LEAGUE game. If that doesn't say I'm back, I don't know what does.

I still believe Zubac will develop into a nice center with time.

Wow does Ball look like a flop. Slow, over powered, poor shooting.

Being out there with bigger opponents makes his shot look even more like something he needs to remedy.

Too many Balls. :)

Yeah bad 3rd quarter for him. Needs to get stronger the guard on the Clips who's been on him has been very effective at muscling up on him.

I really want to root for Ball to succeed, but his dad and his Lakers' connection make me want him to bust badly.

The entertainment between quarters had a Clipper fan shooting against LaMelo Ball. At least one Ball brother can shoot!

Johnson left Ball standing still. It was a mismatch but Ball has some work to do before being the next anointed one. Sorry your dad built you up like this.
