Why do we keep on shooting the 3 when we keep on missing? We're 2/15 now.

Our three new regular rotation players Turkoglu, Childress and Warrick have combined for 1-12 shooting so far. Though Frye and Dudley aren't much better at 2-10.

I can't figure out which is worse, Frye or Turkoglu. They seem to have the same game... missing shots.

Suns up 62-58 after the 3rd quarter.

Both teams still shooting poorly: Suns shooting 33% with 2/18 3 pointers, Warriors 30% with 4/19 3 pointers.

Suns 14 offensive rebounds, Warriors 15.

Suns 11 turnovers (JRich 4), Warriors 14.

From the box score it looks like only Nash,Lopez, and Dragic have had good games for the Suns: Nash 14 pts on 6/13 shooting and 5 rebounds, Lopez 14 pts on 5/9 shooting and 10 rebounds, and Dragic 6 points on 3/4 shooting.

Frye seemed to have a break through moment in the second half. It would be great if he is coming out of his shooting funk. His 14 points and 7 rebounds were solid.

Yay!! Suns win 92-87. :)

A lot lower scoring and poorer shooting than I expected. Suns shot 38% with 5/24 3 pointers, Warriors 33% with 5/26 3 pointers.

Suns had 15 offensive rebounds, Warriors 21.

Nash had 18 pts on 8/15 shooting but 7 turnovers including 4 in the 4th quarter.

Warrick has a real opportunity here. Turkoglu is awful, so if Warrick can figure out a way to masquerade as a PF, he has a chance to earn major minutes.

I'm tempted to say, "But he'll have to find a way to rebound too," except that the Suns are used to having a PF who doesn't rebound, so maybe that's not a hurdle after all.

So Dowdell and Jones are cut, and Childress is out at least a week with a fractured finger. I would assume that both Janning and Siler will start the season on the inactive list, but if Childress' injury forces him to miss start of regular season then Janning will get to stay on the active roster.

I know that was a playful comment but we repeat the "Amare doesn't rebound" phrase so often that we sometimes start to believe it. In fact, Amare was 13th last season among all forwards at 8.9 rebounds per game (regular season stat). We will soon long for the days when our non-rebounding power forward puts up those kind of numbers.

I really like 14 and 10 from Lopez. If we can get that kind of production with him while anchoring the middle on defense, then we'll have one of the better centers in the league at present.

Well sure, but I don't know why anyone would expect him to match his best game over and over. Some days he'll have 14 and 10, and some he'll have 5 and 2.

Jason Thompson anyone? The Hoopsworld article is pure speculation, but I'd love to see it happen. I'd even include a 1st round pick. Thompson is as good and has as much potential as almost any 1st round pick in the upcoming draft. (That the Suns would be able to draft.) So why not?

Dudley and a 1st? Does that get it done?

Move Turk to the bench and have him control the second unit.

Nash
Richardson
Hill
Thompson
Lopez

Dragic
Childress
Turkoglu
Warrick
Frye

That one small move instantly balances out the roster. Turk at the 4 this year is going to be a disaster.

Amar'e couldn't handle being the only big on the court for us last season, without getting into foul trouble, shying away from defense and mediocre rebounding.

As good as we hope Robin Lopez will become, can we really expect more from him? It is not fair to him.

if he plays a consistent 30 minutes at Center (which I don't believe he will), he needs a real Power Forward next to him for every one of those minutes.

That's the NBA, especially as the season winds down and enters the playoffs.

Suns down 78-61 after the 2nd quarter.

Suns shooting 47% with 2/12 3 pointers, Nuggets 62% with 4/11 3 pointers.

Suns with 11 offensive rebounds, Nuggets 4.

Suns have committed 10 turnovers (Nash, Hill, and Clark with 2), Nuggets 6.

Suns have hit 13/16 free throws, Nuggets have hit 18/22 free throws.

Why is Nash playing 20 minutes in the 1st half of a preason game?

The Suns down 17 points at half time against the Nuggets in the final preseason game. This time can't blame it on rotations or the bench as the starers are playing a lot of minutes. The Suns allowed 49 points in the second quarter, unable to stop Nuggets and Lawson in particular who scored 22 points in 13 minutes off the bench.

Warrick started in place of Turkoglu who is out, but struggled shooting the ball. The problem is that when he catches the ball too far from the basket, he doesn't know what to do with it. He can't get to the hoop and keeps putting up errant jumpers. He did manage 9 points on two field goals (2-8) while getting to the foul line (5-5).

Clark is getting some playing time and he made some nice plays as well as a couple turnovers. Nothing new there. Nash, Lopez and Dudley have been playing well. But the Suns still can't buy a three-point shot, going 2-12 in the first half.

It's going to be a long season. Unfortunately, I also predict a season of Nash bashing that will drive many of us over the edge. We'll be praying for a lockout.

It's worth noting that Anthony, Billups, Nene, Martin, and Anderson are not playing for the Nuggets tonight.... Scary.

lol, the Suns are the Nets of the West this season. They are clueless and running around like headless chicken on offense and even sucked worse on defense. Wow

What's up with our 3 point shooting? Even Nash is 1/13 from the 3 in preseason.

If that's the case then at least we still have our 1st round draft pick for this season. :(
