It's funny how the view of KD has changed amongst some here since he's been a Sun. Saying he's a malcontent, thin skinned, bus rider now gets push back. He was widely recognized as all that before he came here and has been that while here. Some wear their purple and orange glasses though and refuse to admit he is who he is.

The league cracked down on players demanding trades. Now players face big fines if they go public with trade demands. The only thing we'll hear before something happens is what we hear now, he's unhappy. Saying the Sun's plan on him being here doesn't negate the fact he's not happy. Find the silver lining to make yourself happy though, I don't care.

KD is conjuring up some Ayton vibes for me. The Sun's will be better when he's gone and put this chapter behind us. Bad enough we're paying for him for 6 more years. I'd rather he didn't tarnish this team with his presences for another year though.

I don't think KD is happy anywhere. He's a malcontent.

He "hates drama", yet he creates it wherever he goes.

Dude who hates drama goes above and beyond to create a "superteam" with Kyrie Irving, the king of drama and entitlement. That 'shockingly' goes sideways and KD's solution is to demand his team fires the coach he hand picked and the GM who gutted the roster to get him and Kyrie.

There will be rumblings all year. If we are not an obvious contender we will see even more games where he blatantly quits midway through the action. He might not openly demand out, because he is gutless and two faced, but we will hear more and more of these reports as time passes.

I remain un-convinced that the results of allowing this poorly designed Big Three team, now with a year of experience and a possibly better coach, one more go-round would not be better than burning the franchise to the ground and rebuilding it completely. Because that is what trading Booker amounts to. I think we have seemingly agreed on that. I don't like this team, but do I want to rebuild from nothing?

I think we need to stop calling it a big three. I actually like Beal's play style and his character, but he is no where near being a star caliber player at this stage of his career.

And, we can't blow it up and rebuild, no point. Our draft situation is far too leveraged.

Would we rather tough this out, win 40-50 games a year and pray for a miracle, or be the worst team in the NBA for the next 6+ seasons and watch other teams use our picks to draft top 4 players year after year? Yeah, those 15-20 win teams will also be getting whatever picks Booker gets us, but barring a moment of savant level genious, we are not going to get a star caliber player back with whatever piddly, late round picks we get in exchange.

We should keep our ears open for Durant deals. If some team is stupid enough to gut their team for him, let them. But trading Durant AND Booker would put this team in a 7 or 8 year abyss of hopelessness that would obliterate the fan base.

I think the comparison is more about the toxicity that surrounds them and they'd we'd have been off better trading Ayton a year or 2 earlier.

Sure, twist my words. I said he's giving me Ayton vibes in that we'll be better when he's gone because he disrupts the chemistry. You also aren't sure which version of him will show up. The KD who quits on Christmas day, the KD who hands the other team the ball all game, the passive KD, or the good version that plays like he cares.

No one in favor of the KD trade ever mentioned his baggage. The revisionist history is happening now, saying "Oh, we knew he was a troubled teammate". All you folks said was "If you can add KD, you add KD." without hinting about his issues with teammates elsewhere unless the teammates themselves were blamed, like Kyrie being Kyrie or Draymond being Draymond.

No one did but like I said, those in favor of the trade deliberately ignored his teammate issues or his thin skin fighting with random fans on Twitter. I had written a response but decided it was better to delete it since you're just going to keep this going. Nothing to see here though, KD is a model teammate and isn't causing any sort of issues for the Suns.

I put KD in the Kyrie Irving category. Sure there's baggage. There's so much more talent and ability you overlook ALL the baggage. The scales tip in favor of what they bring to the team.

I cannot stand Kyrie and he's a big part of why I am rooting for Boston... but even he had less red flags than Durant.

Durant fixed zero of our problems, if anything he made our weaknesses more pronounced.

The baggage and toxicity alone was enough of an issue to balk at the deal, toss in the cost and lack of fit... his strength is a slow paced, mid range, iso game... something we already had in spades, so much that it was a limiting factor in our offense.

Ugh.

Still, would not have advocated for a Kyrie deal... even if it would have been better for the team. As a person, I find Kyrie far more revolting than Durant.
