The Suns move into second place in the history of professional sports for the most midseason coaching changes ever (I think it is 5 now). Only the Cincinnati Reds have more (7)

That was the "Did you know" on Sportscenter

That's one way of looking at it. The other is, did management make the right choice up front, time after time, at almost a record clip? Apparently not.

Supposedly Skiles wasn't 'fired', it was a 'mutual separation' but we all know the truth.

Also when Ainge took over, Cotton wasn't fired either. He stepped down and let Danny take the reins.

JC said in an interview with Cheryl Miller during yesterday's game that both Ainge & Skiles came to them and quit.

Yeah but both you and I know that what you tell the media (especially Cheryl Miller  ) and what the truth is are usually two different things.

Whatever

Seriously, Mike D'A only has a contract through the end of the year. The Suns did not have to pay him more to take over the job on an "interim basis". If the Suns don't play well, they don't have to fire him, just not renew his contract.

Name coaches are reluctant to take over teams in mid season. Hubby Brown was the exception and he was not only everyones list to begin with. Taking over a team without having a chance to work with them in camp and spend a summer evaluating personnel is a recipe for an early exit (which is why assistant coaches usually want a contract extension just to take the job)

I was misinformed. Actually, this is the same contract he had.

It's too bad we can't take FJ's salary off the cap...

The "Did you Know" was not about firings, it was just midseason coaching changes
