7:00 PM

Rose Garden

Both teams are 5-2

* Western Conference Player of the Week Markieff Morris missed Wednesday morning’s shootaround. He has been under the weather with some flulike symptoms since Tuesday but is expected to play against Portland after getting some rest during the day.

Hope his brother Marcus steps it up if Kieff is struggling.

Time to watch Plumlee dominate Lopez again :D

I'm sure we caught Portland by surprise in our season opener, it will be interesting to see how they play us tonight. Hopefully Dragic is at full strength, he had a great game against the Blazers.

Markieff did not play in the season opener due to his suspension so in this regard, not that much has changed except the venue

'Hope so. PlumDog demolished Robin the Boy Wonder in the first meeting. But he has had double-doubles in his last two games and will be playing at home.

At the least, if Plumlee gets one more point, one more rebound and one more block than Lopez, I'll smile. At the least.

But a win on the road would be nice, too.

Really? You too? I cringe every time I hear Eddie call him "Plumdog". Albert called him that a few times early in the game that he did with Ann but fortunately he stopped doing it afterwards. He went back to it the next game with Eddie there but I suspect the fact that Ann was too classy to use such a juvenile nickname persuaded him to drop it for that broadcast. And please, don't take it personally, I am NOT trying to call you juvenile (or Mainstreet who also used the nickname in a game thread). I know we all tend to just follow along on these kind of things and I'll probably succumb to it myself but I'll lose a little respect for me when I do.:)

Ironically, I don't like it either. I agree with everything you said.

Hey Steve, how about coming up with a better one? :)

BTW, the game starts at 8PM, now that Phoenix is back on Mountain time. Rather, now that the rest of the country has gone back to normal time. sunsfan88's initial post shows it as 7PM . . . which it will be on the West Coast.

I expect for you to come up with better as well.

There are worse nicknames than "Plumdog," like perhaps the "Plumber" because he fixes things. ;)

I'm the wrong one to ask when it comes to nicknames but I've always associated the Plumdog, Plumster kind of nicknames with fratboys and wannabe fratboys. It's a nickname that has no purpose. I don't mind Air Miles or Frequent Flyer Miles or some of the others that sort of tie in to the way a guy plays but if it were up to me (and apparently, it's not???), only nicknames that made it easier to call someone's name would be in play. Sarunas Jasikevicius needs a nickname, Tom Jones doesn't.

I hate the nickname "Plumdawg" too! I'm kind of mad about it. I know it sounds silly to get upset about something so little but god I want to punch Eddie Johnson and the other moron in the face everytime they say his name. I was almost hoping that Plumlee doesn't score or block shots late in the previous game so that I can stop hearing them say it.

How can we get them to stop? Call Suns PR department or something? I know the Suns and Babby really care about how the fans think now and don't want to piss us off so maybe complaining to them will actually work.

I was kind of freaked out by the "Plumdog" bombshell. I must have missed the memo. I could have sworn it was the same broadcast where I heard Tom Leander, Tom Chambers, Eddie Johnson, and Steve Albert all call him Plumdog as if it had been decided by the powers that be.

I think starting Dragic instead of Green messed up the chemistry a little bit.

Markieff is having a good game defensively. They need to get him the ball more on offense.
