As a team, we went from awful to worse. Mission accomplished. Great trade.

Give me a better coach and I bet you get better play. Better players doesn't always equal better play. Tons of examples of teams loaded with talent on the starting 5 with terrible coaching.

What you expect when the number 1 criteria for hiring a head coach is "is he affordable"?

I'm not seeing what great effect this had. (If indeed, we even have improved in defense from the SG position. I'd argue against that and did in the other thread.).

Yep, I don't see any improvement from the SG position defensively. Maybe a few points offensively, but JRich has made some of the biggest defensive blunders in those last second shots that went in for the opponent.

Argh!!! :bang:

At least D'Antoni knew to play to his personnel's strength. Oh, and wasn't it Kerr who wanted D'Antoni to use Amare more in a post up game? Well, now he can see the results for himself. Amare got schooled by Boris and JRich got handled pretty well by Raja.

And wasn't it Kerr who wanted the team to play defense? Well, now he can see the results for himself.

But I am happy for Raja and Boris; they came to play.
no kidding boris and raja were better than their play indicated in phx, wonder how long the haters will take to figure it out. Did I mention that Diaw went 16/13/5asst against the spurs in a 86-84 loss last week, and raja scored 25 pts.

the suns havent figured out how to use JRIch yet, but his defense is not better than rajas. I like Jrich, but it looks like the suns lost more than most thought in diaw.

Well I do. I don't see him getting burned anywhere near as much as Raja was and the stats back it up.

Itmay not have been the point, but it was the result. that result has changed the team defensively, without a doubt. I thought "defense wins championships"?;)
No you don't.

Totally agree. JRich is playing well, however the spacing is crap. He can get the inside shot but he should be getting more open 3's. What a waste. He should be scoring big time. The Suns lost big time when they moved DA. His teams always had great spacing. Again if the Suns FO disliked DA so much they should have waited until 2010 when Nash's and Shaq's contracts expire. In the meantime, DA might have surprised.

And Kerr thought that winning was so easy. Now the Suns have a worse offense and unbelievably a worse defense under Porter.

are you sure it's not just taking the points away from someone else?

If you look at opponents per since the trade it says we have gotten better at the SG spot. The other position have not really changed. The SG pre trade was the worst defended on the team.

On this we can agree. However, JRich cannot get the right spacing to shoot his 3's. He should be a devasting weapon for the Suns. At least maybe we can agree JRich is not meant for Porter's style.

Neither are Nash, Amare and LB.

Man the suns are horrible Amare is no where near an all star and should be forced to give up his spot... Another bad offensive and rebounding game for Amare suprise surprise. And what is up with Nash just age I guess but man he is looking bad. If we are out of the playoffs by the all stark Porter will be fired this is beyond bad at this point. o

Why does it seem the only players TRYING to play to the best of their ability and getting it done is Shaq, Grant, Louis and sometimes, Leandro?

The cats wanted the win more. plain and simple. When amare only gets 12/9/3, the suns most likely are not going to win. When you play hungry teams, you've got to be ready to play 48 strong minutes.

Something's gotta happen. A trade, a new coach, benching of amare, something.

Exception to the rule... that Laker team Smoked their way through the playoffs for a 15-1 record with offense.

That year we were the 23rd ranked defense. Go figure.
The showtime lakers were also an exception. Last years lakers team was also not a great defensive team, but they could have won, they just ran into a bad matchup in the celtics.
