how about amare and banks for kobe and kwame?

you gotta give up more than Amare and a bad contract considering the status of Amare's knees - also, that deal above couldn't be possible because both Kobe and Kwame make a ton more than Amare and Banks respectively.

to be honest, if we could be assured that we could sign PJ, I'd even do Amare and Barbs for Kobe. That's basically a PJ and Kobe for Amare and Barbs trade. It makes us better defensively... and it gives us a killer at the end of games. Hell, I'd even throw that first round pick in there.

Nash
Bell
Kobe
Marion
Diaw

Bench:
Hill
PJ Brown
Banks

with being able to play PJ against the Spurs? That team wins the title. It has the three point shooting, very good defenders 2-4 and solid old bench guys with Banks coming in as the poor man's Leo. Also, that starting lineup would fly up and down the court.

bobcats or no bobcats, it's nice to see us lay the wood to someone, while getting the starters some nice rest before the Hawks game manana. I'd keep Amare on the sidelines another game or two. Just be as cautious as possible.

And the hawks are losing by 12 to the nets at the end of the 3rd very nice :). With Nash and Marion getting time to rest in the 4th qtr I like our chances vs the hawks tommorow. Plus if we beat the hawks tommorow won't that put them at 1-4?

Very, very nice. I know D'Antoni wants Hill to shoot those 3s but they sure are ugly.

What's with Marion not going to the offensive boards any more?

I would say the only player I would trade Amare for is kobe, other then that we have to keep Amare and try to win it with our current lineup.

I didn't actually realize you guys had that Kiwi.

Oh, in the Amare trade....we'll take Amare and the ATL pick and filler if needed for Kobe and Cook. Muaahahahah.

correction,
marks had 13pts.

and you can keep Cook,
we'll take turiaf instead.

as good as we are without amare, we can't beat the spurs without him. look at game 5 last year, we couldn't hold it down at the end of the game because we couldn't get it down into the post for fouls and easy buckets. the mavs are much easier to beat with him as well. dampier and diop can't match up to him

at this point, with Amare's knees, I'd send Amare, Banks and the pick for Kobe and Cook.

So you would trade Amare, Barbosa and the Atlanta pick for Kobe? I would consider Amare plus filler but only because of his knees. I think the Suns could get some quality talent from another team just shopping Amare. I still don't think Kobe can walk on water. This proposed trade is not for KG and even then it would be hard to swallow.

na, probably not Barbs - I'd throw Amare, Banks and the Hawks pick though in a second and I'd throw Amare and Barbs sans the pick in a second also, assuming we could sign PJ Brown.

probably because we have a player with knees that are starting to remind people of Penny Hardaway. NOTE: I said STARTING. Those things are scary no matter how much kool-aid you drink.

If the suns call the lakers tomorrow and say, Amare/atl for kobe, the deal is only on the table until the end of the day Wed, I think the lakers, knees or not, do it.

It it is the one trade they could sell to their fans and that laker fans would actually be excited about (see Donald). And you know what, I think I do it.

I'm probably making too many conclusions after 4 games, but the fact that this is Amare's 6th year and he still is very poor on defense and is a blackhole on offense contribute to me pulling the trigger. He has the ability to create so many shots for others but doesn't know how and doesn't even seem to have the desire to. These were two of his biggest problems as a rookie and he still hasn't got better.

That combined with the fact I think, even though they will never say it and need amare to win a title, I believe the players genuinely like playing ball a lot more w/o amare ( probably the bond they formed 2 years ago). All these factors lead me to make the trade.

We may be smaller, but the spurs organization still has nightmares of all the years kobe not only destroyed them, but just toyed with them. Kobe rejuvenated with the suns will drop 40 on them and shut down manu.

ALL of that is exactly what's in my head. Especially the defense/lack of passing from Amare. I love the kid to death, but his knees scare the crap out of me and if we re somehow able to get Kobe and sign PJ Brown, we're basically a dominant version of the 2005-6 team, except we have a killer in Kobe to finish games. That team definitely kicks Dallas' ass and matches up very well with SA defensively, while giving us that extra three point shooter/guy who gets to the hole and draws fouls at will with Kobe.

It'd be a horror vision to see Amare come back and destroy the Suns each time they meet. That being said, the risk issue would make a trade for Kobe conceivable from Suns' perspective. To make sense, though, the trade needs to be Amare, Bell, Pike, Atl for Kobe, Turiaf, Evans. If we sign PJ, we'd have PJ/Diaw/Marion/Kobe/Nash backed up by Hill/LB/Turiaf/Skinner/Evans. I'd like in addition Marion for Kirilenko trade, but it'd do without.
