If we lose, I am chalking this up to the horrible officiating...I mean really, the Jazz are scoring at will because our guys are too afraid to play defense...

Seriously talk about a girly game. There was way too much whistle blowing.

Suns gave up way too many boards. Lazy on the glass again.

We lost the game mainly on rotation scheme.
Shaq defending Milsap or Boozer can't work, nor too much zone. On the other hand, we didn't use Shaq as efficient. We should have played Amundson to match Milsap's energy for stretches.
Refs also made it impossible for us to win too.

Can someone fill me in as to how this became a blowout? Our internet server in the dorms went out since the 2 minute mark of the 3rd

Brevin Knight made Steve Nash his bitch..

Paul Millsap became Karl Malone.

Oh and Kirilinko started his own block party.

Agree with everything but the refs part

I think its funny that I didn't see how they lost this game and yet I am not worried. Um, the reason the Suns lost was mainly because of the officiating. It was clearly biased and I don't care what you say, they played lighter because of the officiating...

So its basically the end of the world when we lose? Like everytime we lose? Because of what I saw we lost because of our lack of defense and the calls....one game people, just one game

Just a bad night, Suns looked kind of tired and didn't have the energy they did last night against the Pistons.

It just sucked to see all those FT's early in the game by Utah. There were 6 FT by the Suns attempted when it really didn't matter late in the game so you can clearly say that Utah won partially by their extra FT's that were staggering high in the 2nd/3rd. The announcer said that it was one quarter (2nd or 3rd) where the Jazz attempted 20 free throws in one quarter and they went to the FT line on 5 straight possessions. Phoenix also lost because of the rebounding that seemed to just not be there, but it seems like your shooting, defense and every part of basketball seems to drop a little when it just isn't going your way. Nash didn't play his usual minutes, Shaq probably would have played longer and whoever else, idk it was just a lot of fouls.

Diaw should've seen more minutes.

does anyone find the above amusing? Andrew didn't see the game but he is able to say the officiating was clearly biased.

they lost because they looked old and slow. I mean Shaq got his stuff blocked back in his face on three straight possessions and what was with freezing out Amare for entire quarters of a time.

yuck. a loss to the Jazz without Deron Williams and Okur.

well, up next, the best team in the league. Let's see what happens then.

I didnt get to see most of the game, but the disparity from the line disgusts me. The suns are not an overly aggressive team on defense, and I dont see how Nash can pick up 5 fouls with Williams out.

I wont bitch anymore about the officiating, as it will never change. Its just something the Suns are going to have to learn to overcome if they are going to succeed in the playoffs.

The same thing's going to happen if we get more fouls than rebounds. I'll tell you that much.

Amare is averaging 12.8 shots a game. Last year with D'Antoni's "share the wealth" it was 15.3. I've realized something this past 12 games, the poison of run and gun share the wealth etc... runs much deeper than d'antoni. And unfortunately the biggest enabler of it is nash.

Amare stoudemire's offensive game is every bit as good as karl malone's was in his prime. he's not malone who was a damn good defender and rebounder, but offensively every bit as dominant. Consistenly shooting at 58/59, that's ridiculous considering a lot of his shots are jumpers.

He should be the main option on offense every time taking no less that 18-19 shots. He needs a lot more touches in the post where he can face up and do his work. But none of that is happening, I thought that would clearly be the case with dantoni gone but sadly nash has the same mindset as d'antoni.

Amare stoudemire will be gone after next year and i can't say i blame. I saw the same thing happen with dice during 97-98 (although at a much less agregious level considering he wasn't as dominant is amare is now). He was a quiet guy but it was obvious he was frustrated only playing 30 mins a game and he would be out after the year.

I seriously don't even blame amare for not trying on defense or rebounding, why should he if the team isn't using his ridiculous talents.

then.

By then, Shaq was worn out by being of not much factor on either side but still running back and forth.

If we accept the mismatch when they played small with Boozer/Milsap as the only big, we gotta punish them on the other end by consistently feeding it to Shaq and Amare. Yet, they touched the ball too little in the 2nd half, until it's too late with tired legs. Had Amundson subbed in for Shaq for defense, he might have had enough legs not to get embarassed by 3 consequetive blocks. That's a frustrating-to-watch combination of game plans and substitution patterns. We basically beat ourselves. Refs calling it over tight didn't help us though.

Agree. We'll see whether there is enough changes before he could opt out.
With Dice, however, Ainge might deliberately have played him less to try to reduce his asking price the following FA season. The only thing was, the league introduced the max. salary scale and his strategy did nothing but enraging Dice to bolt.

Random thoughts
-Where were Amundson and Singletary coach?
-Refs are stupid clowns. Borderline WWE or WWF
-I hate the Jazz. They are coached too well in the art of being pesky, hands on defenders that don't draw fouls while playing football. (especially Harpring)
-Bell is in a funk
-The team that beat Detroit obviously didn't show up.

EXACTLY! I wanted to scream when Barnes and company were shooting jumpers while small power forwards were trying to guard Shaq and Amare. :bang::bang::bang:
