Is this a picture of Humphries before he tapped the ball? The replays clearly show the ball was on Humphries fingers when the light was on.

there's no way in the world the games can be entertaining enough to endure the eventual ****-kicking we'll face at the hands of the Spurs or Lakers once if we eek in as an 8 or 7 seed.

A couple of months ago I was having a miserable time as a Suns fan but not so much anymore. This team is so much more entertaining to watch than the Suns of November and December. I look at it this way. I get to enjoy watching these guys play and cheer for the long shot chance that they come together and knock off a top seed in the playoffs. If they don't come together they probably miss the playoffs and I get to cheer for the long shot chance of a lottery hit. I love a good long shot.

If Brooks plays like he did tonight, I'm okay with moving Lopez to the bench. However it is not as big of a deal as some here make it out to be. Gortat is still getting the majority of the mins anyways.
Yes, but once Gortat comes in for Lopez midway during the 1st and 3rd quarters, he usually doesn't come out.

The starters (not including Carter, who gets token starts like Lopez, with Dudley or Pietrus to cover for him) play the 1st quarter, rest the first 6 minutes of the second quarter, play the rest of the quarter, then rest during the intermission. Then they do it all over again in the 2nd half.

Gortat playing 1 1/2 quarters without a break (in each half) is bound to wear him down, no matter how strong he is. I am afraid it is as big a deal as some of us make it out to be.

It is one of the reasons why I have been so critical about using him as a starter-off-the-bench. It puts Gortat at a disadvantage vs. opposing Centers (who play a more conventional routine).

As much as we take Gortat for granted, it is going to take its toll.

Reason for Nash's divorce? He's g**

We're lucky Nash didn't get a tech/ejection on this play. When Frye did this to Garnett, KG got EJECTED!

Tatman and Robin. :) Seems like we are winning in spite of Gentry at times. Everybody was calling him a joke for switching the starting line up every game and now it's starting to be the other way around.

If this were a Caption This Photo post, I guess Anthony Morrow would be telling Steve, "Later, Dude. Right now I'd rather just expose your defense."

And Steve would be saying, "Where's Grant Hill? Oh yeah, guarding my man." :)

Denver made out like bandits on the trade. They look like they could be better.

Gortat was getting rest tonight due to how much he played yesterday and how effective Robin was tonight.

There are plenty of dead time in that 1st and a half straight that he plays in both halves so lets not overexaggerate. What is best for the TEAM is for them to get the best out of Robin. In order to do that they put him with Nash.

Prior to the trade our bench would've been: Lopez, Warrick, Pietrus, Dudley, and Dragic. I'm sorry but lineup is absolutely ATTROCIOUS and would've increased the already noticable problem with our team when Nash went on the bench. We were with regularity in the - by double digits when that happened. Moving Lopez to the bench would've made a BAD problem WORSE!!!

Now that we have a backup PG I don't have as much of a problem with it but I understand if we didn't. In case you didn't notice what Gentry is doing is WORKING. The team is on a roll and is making a nice push to the playoffs.

I want whats best for the TEAM, you want whats best for GORTAT. Your bromance has reached new levels that it blinds you to what's important - the TEAM WINNING!!

Glad Gentry knows that was a horrible win:

"That's ridiculous," Suns coach Alvin Gentry said. "That's the worst basketball game I've seen down the stretch. That was horrible. We were lucky as anything to win the game."

Maybe next time he can substitute correctly?

I know! When Morrow took off his foot was on the line! He should of only had 2 free throws.

I guess Nash's defense was to hope that Morrow would instinctively turn his head and cough.

The team is on a roll and is making a nice push to the playoffs.
Needing 3-point shots to win two consecutive games in overtime vs. sub-par teams -- one at the buzzer and one when they get off their made shot a second too late -- is really not "a nice push to the playoffs". We still have tinkering to do, which is why I have been advocating starting our best Center.

And as sunsfan88 quoted Gentry as saying (above):

Hey, don't get evil, Evil Ash. I certainly do want what is best for the Suns, just as I have since 1970. And I feel that Gortat playing a starter's routine would be better for the team than his playing a starter's role off the bench -- including in a 5-minute overtime.

If you disagree, do a little better than "bromance" and "blinds you". Tell us why, OK?

We needed the shot last night because our bench stunk. We needed the shot tonight because our starters stunk minus Robin.

We need both parts of the team to play well. We won back to back road games. When did we get to the point that we're picky about wins?

Execution is the name of the game and there were parts from alot of people that didn't do their job. Nash taking care of the ball and fouling before they got a shot up, Hill hitting a shot and being able to count to 5, Gortat defending the other Lopez instead of trying to cheat to get the rebound, Frye hitting shots more often, etc

Gortat starting doesn't solve alot of those problems

I did but you don't evidently read very well. Our bench lineup was: Gortat, Warrick, Pietrus, Dudley and Dragic. That lineup was regularly in the (-) by double digits when Nash was on the bench meaning that they gave up big leads with regularity. How does removing one of our few consistent bench players and replacing him with with an often passive player improve the bench?

Now that we have an aggressive backup PG, it may change things somewhat but I can understand if Gentry doesn't want to gamble on that.

You have a hypothesis with no real backing to put Gortat in the starting lineup. Its for all intents and purposes a hunch. You would gamble our season on a hunch, I don't want to.

If there was any real backing for it you might have a point but what you have is a hunch and nothing more

I wish Bill Cartwright could teach Robin to catch rebounds with two hands rather than slapping them away with one hand.

I really wonder if our Big Man's coach has tried and given up. There is no reason for Robin to continue doing it.

LOL. After reading your caption, it looks like Anthony Morrow is a indeed a righty, and it wasn't ball that Steve got.

I guess another caption for Steve could be, "Anthony, let me give you a hand."

It's also interesting that, while Morrow is jumping, Steve is trying to reach the basketball while on his tippy-toes, but not leaving the floor. You'd expect that he'd be up in the air, too.

Which leads to the serious question. Is it his back (which would explain his shooting slump)? Or his stamina (which would also explain his shooting slump)?

It would explain why the Front Office would pay whatever they had to (Dragic and a pick) in order to add a quick shooting Point Guard with starter's experience at this time, to expedite fitting into the Suns system.
