Alright.
That's enough.
I've let enough of the jabs go on but I'm asking everyone to stop it before it gets ugly.

Yeah... THAT will be what does us in...
I agree with your not-so-subtle KD reference but he's not exactly wrong. Paying Devin 70 million per to be an average point guard is going to raise the misery stakes and ensure we don't accidentally find our way out of the darkness for many years to come.

I don't think anyone is calling for Book to be the PG. Personally I don't think it makes much a difference whether he stays or goes. If we can't get our picks back though then we need to be semi-competitive just to make sure we aren't handing over top 3 lottery picks to the teams who control them. We're in a dark place and there's no way out entirely. It's just a matter of how dark you're comfortable in. I'm not ok seeing another team win the lottery with our picks though and it sucks we went from being in the finals to this because our new owner decided to swing for the fences on a shortsighted gamble.

I know you're not the only one feeling that way but to me, it's not even an issue. All I care about is our future, I could care less about the optics as the damage has already been done. Whether that pick nets someone the next Tim Duncan or the next Olowokandi matters not to me. Hell, I might even offer to tank once or twice if the team that benefits tosses us a bone for doing so. Wouldn't the Commissioner love that!

I would rather tune out for a few years than root for another to benefit from our misfortunes. We are going to lose, we can avoid becoming a perpetual bottom feeder along the way. It takes years to wipe that losing stink away. See the Cardinals as an example. They were a joke for decades and couldn't attract top tier talent except for negotiating purposes, see Joe Montana or Peyton Manning for big examples. Once you become the joke it's hard to erase that. The Hornets in the NBA are an example of that.

I don't disagree but to me, we're already there. We are a joke when we're considered at all and every informed fan and media personality knows we'll be trending even lower for quite awhile.

Already said that the KD deal did us in. But extending Booker and building around his complete and utter lack of leadership and skills to even be a great number 2 while paying him more than almost every number 1 AND continuing to be a joke (which we’ve pretty much been every single year of Booker’s career without CP3) will do us in for even longer. That just seems beyond pointless to me when we could get assets for the future to start rebuilding.

I disagree on us being a joke now and being stuck there. I think we can sink lower, see Brooklyn or Houston picking top 3 with our pick. There's levels to it and we don't need to sink to the depths Brooklyn/NJ did when they essentially built Boston's championship team from the failed KG/Paul Pierce experiment. That's extra pain and suffering that can be avoided.

There needs to be a compromise solution. I'm tired of this 100 out 100 stuff.

The Suns owe the fans the best front office personnel, GM and scouts they can find. Spend on them like they did for Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal.

I want to like the product they put on the court, both now and in the future.

Now that I can agree with 100%. Our scouting and cap management/salary allotment is going to have to be out of this world the next couple years to get us out of this mess.

Agreed.

Personally I wouldn't give Devin the supermax. Results matter. Roster quality and flexibility matters. If he gets upset when not offered the max then that is unfortunate but there are plenty others wanting to play basketball for that kind of money.

I did say this, that we're going to sink even lower. But I can't find a single reason to be optimistic enough to think that we won't sink lower than NJ did following their disastrous trade. They were in as bad of shape as we are but New Jersey/Brooklyn didn't have their hands tied by a CBA designed to penalize and handcuff franchises that try and buy a championship. I'd love to believe we're not totally screwed but nothing I've seen from our Front Office makes me believe they can find a way out of this mess. I hope I'm wrong.
