Back in the '80's it was Thirst Buster. (I had to look it up to remember.)

Another tradition was stopping at the Original Hamburger Works at 15th Ave. and Thomas on the way to the Madhouse on McDowell for their good burgers, chuck wagon style condiment bar and a cold brewski.

Original Hamburger Works! I worked there the summer between college and law school! Within two weeks they asked me to become general manager. Noooo way was I taking responsibility for reporting to all the parole officers for all the ex-cons (who happened to be nice guys, for the most part) who worked there. I still vividly remember one of 'em finding out I was headed to law school and asking me, "is it okay if I shot guy in self defense?". And I said it likely depended on the circumstances. And he replied, "what if it was in his back?" At that point I thought it wise to schedule my work hours opposite him.

And then he went on to write for TV shows?

My collection was from the 70's, wish I still had it!

I saw quite a few Firebirds/Giants and Roadrunners games, too. Also saw a couple of NHL exhibition games at the Madhouse. One them was when Guy Lafleur was making his comeback with the Rangers, I believe.

I did watch the Kings a lot on Prime Ticket back then, but was a Flames fan at the time.

What a shame, Flames fan? hehe, no it's actually understandable, they did suck before the Kopitar era...ok with exception of that Gretzky part of the past.

Yep, that was our tradition too. But we'd also hit up Mary Coyle's for ice cream after the game.
