Pay the man!!!

He's gonna be a key moving forward. I can see him entering the Suns role player hall of fame along with guys like Elliot Perry. He's gonna be a huge fan favorite

Yes. The Suns finally have found some players that fit. Now they need to keep them.

It's amazing to look at the mistakes the Suns have made in regard to salary that will be off the books next season or will be stretched.

See below.

It doesn't matter how bad the teams we are beating are. We were so bad for a while losing by 10 instead of 20 felt like a win.

Having a team option for Holmes for 2019 would be awesome but I can't find it anywhere. I will being doing backflips if it is true. I hope you are right.

I figured out what I saw, I read it wrong when I saw a team option for 2018-19 season. Totally thought that was next season and not this year. Sometimes it's hard to believe we're less than 10 days from 2019.

So true. I don't know where the year went.

i was suggesting extending Holmes 6 weeks ago, before he gets more expensive
he doesn't seem to be the type to lax up after a contract
aggressive is his nature
and D is dependable

and it's not like he's a player who's jump shot can go south on us

Back in the day, they had first team defensive Guard six years in a row.

Don Buse for three, then Dennis Johnson for three.

They've had a couple of players get All-Defensive team honors but I'm not sure if they've ever been looked at as defense oriented. In addition to the two you named they also had 2 other SG's make those teams. Dan Majerle made the All-Defensive 2nd team twice, in 90-91 and again in 92-93. Raja Bell made it twice also, 06-07 1st team and then 07-08 2nd team. None of those Suns teams could be considered defensive juggernauts or even more defense oriented than offense.

Suns have had isolated good players but they've never had an good overall defensive team... believe I've been watching for it... watching and waiting.

We had a pretty good defensive team in the early 70's when Cotton was coaching. Not great, but pretty good.

This is where I am leaning right now. Fill the hole at point guard, keep Oubre and Holmes, then add some more size in the front court to address match up problems when teams go big against the Suns. Also it is a protection against foul trouble.
They have to add another big. Hate to say this, but what happens if Ayton or Holmes get hurt?

We agree. The Suns could use some depth upfront at the traditional 4/5 positions not only to protect against injury and foul trouble but match up situations aw well.

My primary concern is at point guard.

The good thing is the Suns do not need stars at these positions so they should be able to to address these positions in free agency and the draft.

There's still Moreland. I have no idea what he's capable of but size wise he's a big body that can soak up fouls. The highlight clips I've seen also paint a flattering picture as far as skills go, but most highlight packages do.

I am anxious to see Moreland play although I do not have high expectations. However, I thought the same about Holmes and he has far exceeded expectations and more.

I doubt we are much of Moreland. And I certainly wouldn’t get any expectations up about him. Oubre played immediately upon arriving among a crowded wing crew. Moreland hasn’t sniffed the court with a thin big crew.
