We give up the Matrix for Ben Wallace and Pavlovic.
We give up our first round pick (unprotected) with Kurt Thomas (who is pretty damn good off the bench).

I hope Kerr signs Chase Budinger, that would be the ultimate spit in the face of Suns fans. And maybe trade Amare for some overpaid scrubs on the last year of their contract as well.

F the NBA, I was done with the NBA for a while once Tim Donaghy screwed us of a championship. Now I'm done with it until Kerr gets hit by a truck or he leaves the Suns. I'm not blaming Sarver, he isn't a cheapo. He got JRich, got Shaq, and tried to win. He spent money and wasn't a real big cheapo. Kerr is the F-up who is destroying one of the best franchises in the NBA.

I hate this team right now, I miss Bryan and Jerry. I wish you guys were still here.

I don't even care if we suck, I just want to forget what we just had recently and how it all got trashed.

I agree. I'd rather watch a horrible team trying to improve than a team slipping into mediocrity and beyond not trying to do anything but maintain profits.

Right, trading Shawn Marion was such a bad move. What exactly is he doing these days? Oh yeah, he's a mediocre player on bad teams. Marion-Shaq was a great deal in retrospect.

This team was doomed much before Kerr took the reigns, he's just done nothing to rectify or slow down the process. You simply can't not draft anybody for five years and expect to be successful going forward. And that's on Sarver for refusing to pick up a guaranteed 1st round contracts and D'Antoni for refusing to develop any of those picks.

Um, when you rebuild, you also do it to save money to get a higher salaried player later. Who wants a rebuilding team over the cap?? Come on now.

This year we didnt have anything! I understand blaming sarver and kerr for selling picks and trading JJ and marion but this trade had to happen if the suns wanted any future... I am not talking next year but five years from now. Tell me, what would have happened if the suns did nothing this entire year. We would still lose in the first round of the playoffs if that. I dont understand why everyone hates this trade so much. This helps the suns long term.

Look on the bright side, the future is looking that much brighter....a lot of rebuilding teams get good solid young players and it just takes time, time is what fans don't like...

Um, when the Suns traded KT, 2 first round picks, James Jones and another 1st round pick they weren't doing it to rebuild were they? and they weren't doing it to win were they? The only motivation was the money and until proven otherwise thats all this most recent trade is about.

And you're right I have no doubt the Suns will eventually get high priced players to replace the high priced players they're getting rid of. Unfortunately I doubt those players will be much more than high priced.

Andrew, we have no solid young players.

We have two guys who were awful in college and have been awful in the pros (that is you Tucker and Lopez) and one mediocre backup PG.

Barbosa isn't a "Young developing talent" anymore. He has peaked. Everyone has peaked or is well past it.

We are Sacramento...

You get solid young players, build around Amare is what I say...go into the draft to look to sign guys who are good prospects, the Kings suck now...but they have a good young core, in a few years they might be better....

Look at portland! They sucked hard core just a little while ago... Now look at them. For the next decade they will be great. And true fans will realize that rebuilding is the right thing to do. We either suck now or suck in a couple of years. The longer a team waits to rebuild the more is lost.

Ditto... this team just sucks now. The owners and GM are all crap.

BTW, that Marion/Shaq trade and most of our first round give aways were the doings of the Great D'Antoni...

Portland became good by making trades from a basketball prospective, not from a financial prospective.

I am fine with change if they show any progress towards future improvement. This trade doesn't change a damn thing except make it more likely we won't have our 2010 pick back.

I didn't realize we drafted Gortat in the 2nd round in I think '05, that was the icing on the "wow we have given away SO MUCH DAMN TALENT IN THE DRAFT" cake. Gortat is going to be a stud when he signs with a team that doesn't have Dwight Howard anchoring the center position.

Who in the world did yall think we would get for Shaq? I am baffled at the uproar this deal is causing. Shaq held absolutely no value for this team.

Also don't forget that we got to unload Marcus Banks terrible contract in the Shaq deal.

Shaq was one of the best centers in the league. No value? He will most likely be the ticket that gets Cleveland into the finals, and we could've at least got a first rounder for him.

Just about the time I start getting interested again, they do another stupid, stupid, move. This ownership/management group know nothing about collecting and preserving assets, which is essential to rebuilding.

I have been a Suns fan for 33 years and although I am trying, I find it hard to care anymore. I loved JC, but I hate him for selling the team to this moron.

He also makes $21 million and has 1 year left on his deal. He has a history of injuries and all of the contenders are going to be a late first round pick anyways. I agree that it would have been nice to get a first round pick in the deal, but are we really going to go crazy over the fact that we got the 46th pick as opposed to the 46th pick in a terrible draft? I just don't understand why there is an uproar of this magnitude over a deal that everyone knew would happen.

IMO its just that many of us(including myself)would like to believe that the CAVS could have and should have given up at least a future protected 1st. I think what this could mean is that they have zero confidence in retaining LeBron in '10.
The value of the 46th choice in any draft is parsley on a plate.

I agree, but it could also be argued that the value of #30 is similar. I mean obviously 30 is more valuable than 46, but by how much?
