Here is how I have the suns future draft picks.

First round picks through 2009.

Suns have their own 1st round picks for 2006, 2007, 2008, & 2009.

---------------------------------------------------------------
Suns have their own 2nd round picks for 2006, 2007, 2008, & 2009.

---------------------------------------------------------------
They are owed 2nd round picks from,

Orlando in 2006. This was owed to the suns with restrictions in 2005 for the trade involving Robert Archibald.

Golden State in 2006, & 2009 from the trade with Zarko Cabarkapa.

Charlotte Bobcats in 2007 (conditional) for the trade of Jake Voskuhl.

Cleveland in 2008 from the trade for Milt Palacio.
-----------------------------------------------

At this time, they have for 2006,

Their own 1st round pick,
Their own 2nd round pick,
Orlando 2nd round pick,
Golden State 2nd round pick.

Those should be without any conditions.

If they make the trade for JJ (I am still hoping it falls through :) )
They will have either the Lakers or Boston 1st round pick for 2006, whichever is lowest.
They will have Atlanta's 2006 1st round pick lottery protected, same pick in 2007 top 3 protected.

I think this is the current state of the suns future picks.

We'll DEFINITELY be making some trades. THere is no way the Phoenix Suns keep that many picks!

It would seem that 2006 second round picks will be about as valuable as toilet paper.

You don't think toilet paper is valuable??? There have been a couple of times when I would have given up a suns unprotected draft pick to get my hands on some toilet paper :D

They actually be worth more now that we have a developmental league.

Exactly. The new CBA makes 2nd rounders more valuable, because they'll get playing time right away (in the NBDL, but it's still playing time).

Yes, and in other countries, they don't even have second-round draft picks. That makes them about the same.

The 2006 GS pick was sent to Boston for McCarty.

You are right, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I am a little concerned about the Orlando 2nd round pick also. But everything I can find says we have it. But going to continue to work on that to make sure.

Their own 1st round pick,
Their own 2nd round pick,
Orlando 2nd round pick.

I wonder whether they'll keep any first-round picks this time? They've traded away two in each of the last two drafts, if I'm not mistaken.

I think they got rid of drafts picks lately so that they could get back to winning sooner, the picks they will have down the road will be used to build up the younger talent pool again. I don't see them moving any picks unless it is to move up in the draft.

By Friday we'll probably have a mid-1st as well next year.
