The Suns visit another team fighting for the 8th playoff spot in the East in Miami. Added to the Heat's burden of trying to get that spot is the injury to Dion Waiters who has a swollen ankle. He could be out for a couple of weeks.

Today's game is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. Arizona time.

Here is more from the ESPN Preview.

On Sunday night, the Heat's ship sprung a leak, playing without injured starting guard Dion Waiters and losing at home to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Waiters won't be available either on Tuesday, when the Heat (34-36) play host to the Phoenix Suns (22-48) at AmericanAirlines Arena.

The Heat will surely miss Waiters, who is their third-leading scorer (15.8) and is second in assists (4.3).

But the fact remains that Waiters' ankle is still swollen, and he is unable to put weight on it, meaning he is likely out for at least two weeks.

"We're just trying to get the swelling out," said Waiters, who sprained his ankle when he landed on a defender's foot on Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves. "There's a lot of swelling.

The availability of three other Suns is uncertain. Starting shooting guard Devin Booker (ankle) missed the previous game. Backup guards Ronnie Price (lower-leg contusion) and Leandro Barbosa (illness) also missed the previous game.

Keep Booker out until after the Brooklyn game.

I don't think this happens although I agree with you.

I think the Commissioners memo may have some impact on this with the Suns already resting Bledsoe. Teams will now need to more closely follow the letter of the rules on resting players although I don't think the Suns are an offender. IMO, the focus will be primarily be on teams like the Cavaliers, Warriors and Spurs.

I dont think there are any rules for that and I dont think the commissioners has any rights to even punish a team.

We shall see. There will be a lot of screaming if that occurs. More likely, the rules might have to be tightened.

I understand Alan Williams is out for today's game. I'm not sure why.

Len loses a pass down low for a dunk but shortly thereafter Ulis hits him high for a nice dunk. Lesson learned, have to give Len the high pass.

I also want to mention, Len is playing some good defense today.

Len is doing a great job on defense. He has 2 blocks but better yet, he is clogging up the middle very effectively.

The Heat are thinking twice before driving it inside. On one play Dragic was driving baseline and Booker let him go with Len there. It ended up by being an outside shot away from the basket on the other side.

Alan Williams will be missed today.

I don't remember James Johnson being that good. It looks like he has figured out his game with the Heat. He is one of the reasons the Heat are winning. He skyed so high for a dunk, then hung there, it was amazing. He missed the dunk but otherwise, it would have been beyond spectacular. Johnson is averaging 12 points and almost five rebounds a game for the Heat.

Booker with more turnovers (6) than pts (5) and we're barely midway in the 2nd quarter.

Ulis may be his best friend and all but him and Booker make a horrific combo together. Booker misses Bledsoe quite a bit.

Last game was almost perfect for a tank. Kill the opponent for 3 quarters and then shut it down! Not having Williams kind of off sets the Booker addition, just a little. Again, like with the Pistons, we can sweep Miami, but Miami needs this game to stay alive in the playoff hunt.

I heard one of the Suns announcer call Booker a streaky shooter. I'm afraid he could be right although I hope for more.

Im gonna say we clinched the 3 spot. 4 games behind orlando, they have bkn twice... it's over.

The lakers aren't going to let us come close to the 2 spot though.

I think Booker just gets too hyped. If you notice he shoots too hard at the beginning of games. He usually gets better as he gets tired in the third and fourth quarters. The opposite is Chriss. He starts the games with a couple dunks and a three or two, and then he tends to fade away as the game goes on. They seemed out of whack without Wiliams playing. Maybe the spacing is different with Len, or the screens are different, etc.
