I think you pair him with a mean PF, and it will be OK. Ayton is a finesse player. Everyone want him to be Shaq. He still can develop into a solid 20+/10+ guy.

That would be such a disappointment, this guy should get 20 and 10 plus on his really bad nights (when he hits his prime). I really expect to see him average more like 25 and 15 for the bulk of his career and I believe he will if he's motivated to do so.

Then you haven't watched the Suns much this year. Rockets game was a great example. I counted six times they fed him the ball against a guard (Harden), and he either missed or turned it over every time.

Also, in case you are not aware, there is no Steve Nash on the roster right now. Hell, there is no Goran Dragic on the roster, let alone Steve Nash. Additionally, I know this will shock you, but Ayton is no Amare. He will end up being a better player, but he is not an Amare Stoudemire right now.

Problem is not Igor, it is not Ayton either. I think the main problem is unrealistic expectations you have (you are not the only one.) Ayton is not a low-post scorer right now. It will be fine. He does a lot of things extremely well already. Post scoring will come in due time.

Lol where did I say any of this? Where did I say there was a Nash? That was an example of spoon feeding a big man? Where did I say Ayton was Amare.

Where did I say Ayton was a low post scorer? Hell matter of fact I even pointed out how Gobert has a poor post game yet gets easy baskets because of a good point guard.

You missed the whole point of that post guy.

25/15 who ever did that not named Wilt? Come on now. Nobody in recent memory did that not Shaq, not Hakeem, not Ewing, not Robinson, not Duncan not Anthony Davis. None of those guys even had a season where they got 25/15. That’s insane.

He averages 16 & 10 now, is it so hard to see him get closer to 25 & 15? You say it hasn't been done and maybe it hasn't but it's been close, and I think that's what Steve is calling for. Shaq averaged 29 & 14 in Orlando for a season. Andre Drummond is averaging 15 rebounds a game over the last 4 years. DeAndre Jordan averaged 14.2 rebounds over his last 5 years in LA. Is it asking too much to ask him to pull down rebounds like those 2? I don't think it is. Dwight Howard averaged 21 & 14.5 in Orlando, that's pretty close. Is it wrong to think Ayton should end up better than Drummond, DJ, and Dwight? If it is, then we're selling him short.

When someone asks for a player to get 25 & 15 that's an estimate, no one is going to complain if they get 22 & 14. It is an estimate. I didn't think that would have to be explained, it's clear when someone asks for a player to get 20 & 10 that if they get 18 & 9 that they did what they could. It averages out over a season also. Lebron averaged 27, 7, and 7 for his career but in his 16 years he's never had a game with that statline, does that mean he's coming up short? No, it's an average and as such it's not exact.

We took a center #1 that doesn’t like contact or demand the ball. It’s not easy for Igor to work around that, especially without an NBA point guard.

We have fans who act like a rookie center all-nba player immediately.

Such a bad post.

So Booker gets put back in the game to get his 60, and Jimmer says 'No. Screw your 60 Book. I'm not passing to you so I can continue to jack up shots that I'm not even hitting'. Lol not a great way to ingratiate yourself to the new team Jim Jim. I guarantee he won't be with the team next year, might not make it to the end of the season. As a fan, Booker going off is pretty much all I have to root for at this point. fudge Jimmer. He's dead to me.

Considering how many times you've been banned it's fair to say you don't know what's acceptable behavior on a message board yet you believe you know the difference between good and bad posts? That's rich. If you disagree then debate the topic, it's not hard. You are the Dragan Bender of the Suns fandom. Every once in a while there will be a glimpse of quality content in one of your posts but then you follow it up with idiocy like this for the next dozen or so posts.

Yeah apparently the responder missed the fact that "more like 25 and 15" doesn't mean "exactly 25 and 15" and that "bulk of his career" doesn't mean "for an entire career". Ayton in many ways is a very raw basketball player but he's already a gifted scorer and a solid rebounder. If he gets his head into the game and the team learns how to use him, he should have a stretch of years where he averages "close" to 25 and 15.

I hope Ayton watched Gobert last night on a couple lob plays! There where a couple screen and rolls with Gobert, and when he rolled he moved with his hands high above his head creating a target for his teammates to pass to. Plus with his hand already up, he was quicker to the lob than the defense. I thought that was pretty smart by Gobert. That might help our lobless passers hit Ayton more, LOL!

Jimmer is a shooter who can’t shoot

Tyler Johnson took awhile to get his game together after arriving from Miami. I think we should give Jimmer the same opportunity.

59 of the 92?! Good Lord..is it this bad? I miss the colangelo days. I stopped watching because it was reminding me of an off and on relationship. It got exhausting. To those of you who still do.....

Jimmer hasn't played in Phoenix yet. Given this last game and how Phoenix fans think he slighted Booker--do you think he will be received well IF he plays again? Just curious because that was quite the show and side-show.

I know a Jimmer post as a first post always throws up red flag:)s:newbie:, but I have been a fan since watching the games with Kevin Johnson and Mark Price. Thanks.

Welcome!

I can't imagine he'll get anything but a warm reception in Phoenix. It's fair to be a little annoyed by his performance in Utah, but it's a very small thing that likely won't even register except for diehards. If I were to guess, he'll get more fan support and encouragement than any third-stringer in quite some time.

I don't think it'll be an issue beyond today's sports new cycle. Ultimately Booker's 60 points don't really matter that much because we were losing pretty bad. I don't have an issue with Jimmer being Jimmer. Should he have passed? Of course, but that's less because what Devin was going for and more because Booker is our franchise player and Jimmer is a 3rd string sideshow. I hope it's not an issue much longer, if it is then that says how sad this season has been.

And welcome!

Difference there is Tyler Johnson was a rotation player when we got him while Jimmer played his way out of the NBA 5 or 6 years ago. How long do we give him? His poor play was was strike one and not passing to Booker at the end of the Jazz game could be strike two, although I'm hesitant to say that it was a big deal on it's own. If Jimmer's shot was falling then I wouldn't blame him at all but it wasn't, not even close. He needs to show something soon. He could be leaving to be with his wife any day now also, if he does leave who knows if he returns this season. If this is all we have to go on then I hope we waive him.

Playing in Utah was the worst situation for him too. Fans are cheering for him to shoot. It was definitely a circus that could not end fast enough.

I would give Jimmer until summer league or preseason to show something.

Personally I would have not signed him to a contract but Jones was right about Johnson and Oubre so I'm willing to be wrong. Maybe he can surprise.

After **** blocking Booker, Jimmer is dead to me. Ship his ass out. More than that, what does he provide exactly? He's not a good defender. Not a good playmaker. I'd rather have Troy Daniels bombing away from 3.

Gambo was just raging against Igor putting Booker back in down 31 -- unprofessional, risking injury, etc..
i have mixed emotions about it
if i was the coach and i knew that is what Booker wanted (and i'm sure he did) i would have done that for him.
also, the NBA is entertainment, and a player going for 60 is entertaining
and the fans need something to root for during tank mode besides the Suns losing

on the other hand

the stats for the rest of the team sucked!
meanwhile, Bookers been rocking the past couple of weeks, and though that's good to see...
the priority for the last part of this season should not be Booker padding his season stats and star status
the priority should be working out the young players, seeing what they've got and getting them valuable experience.
not needing to win is a luxury that should be taken advantage of in these last games for training and evaluating

again, it's a sign to me that Booker is not ready to lead
though, indeed, every star has an ego, and it helped make them a star,
he's got his max contract.
he needs to focus on whatever it takes to help this team grow as fast as possible.
help make your teammates better, damn it

if you're hot and everyone in the building knows it
how about aiming to get a couple of rookie's 20 points by dishing when you're doubled
instead of going for 60 yourself?

or, maybe even helping Jimmer look good in his comeback effort
(though i agree Jimmer shouldn't have been a chucker in the 4th once it was established that Booker was working it)

It's a good question. Shooting and perhaps some minor ball handling duties would be my first guess but we have not seen it thus far.

I don't understand the Suns thinking on this move but I will try to keep an open mind.
