By far this is Ayton's best game as a pro! He is still so damn raw, but you can see the potential just ooooooozing all over the place with him.
I'll also add that the team has done a much better job getting the ball to Ayton in the right places at the right time. What a difference that made tonight!

He’s a college junior. In the age of one and done you have to remember this when comparing him to the great centers of the past.

Ayton lived up to expectations tonight and delivered with 26 points, 21 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 assists and 4 free throws.

Also tied with Booker for the highest PER with a +31.

This Ayton can take us somewhere. That’s a monster game by him. Even with warts (which I won’t mention out of respect for him going off). What’s crazy to me is that he ended up with 21 rebounds and it didn’t look like he was going crazy out there. He can make it look easy with just some effort. I don’t even think what we witnessed was maximum effort Ayton.

now mind you, 21 rebounds is not my expectation. Tonight he exceeded my best expectations rebounding. But man that’s got to feel great for him to see that box score, in the Garden, in a blowout win. Good on you young man. Tremendous step tonight. I hope he feeds that beast and runs off some nuts games.
