I didn't say what you're implying, that we should get rid of Dario because of his pIay against Giannis. Maybe your opinion of Dario Saric's ability is one thing and mine's is that of another. And that's alright with me but apparently not with you. I'm just saying for $10 million he needs to bring a little more to the table than he does as the Suns want to win it all. I'm just not impressed with his game that's all. It was once said at least one time that not everyone agrees with everyone else.... right? So let's agree to it rest ok?
See you lose me here. You have a guy that played very well off the bench for us the last time he played. He has his limitations, sure, but if you are expecting a different player than what he is, no wonder you're disappointed.

I just don't see any viable reason to dump on him. He doesn't fill every need we have, but he will be a solid contributor, likely no worse than the 8th man on this team. Even better if he regains the chemistry he had with Cam Payne.

And $10 million is actually not that much in the scheme of things and when healthy Dario certainly earns that contract. Dario at 10m and Shamet at 10m. I know there are a good number of people that would take Dario in a heartbeat. But I'm not what else you want him to do. I'm sorry you have to subject yourself to watching Dario Saric in a few months. That's total sarcasm, but you know what I mean.

You don't quit do you? I'm not petty and I will not continue this back & forth as I said prior. Difference of opinion.

I guess you don't understand the whole purpose of a message board is. If you don't want anyone to disagree with you maybe you shouldn't post. It's been civil, I'm not sure why you are getting upset. But ok, we're done.

I'm not upset at all not in the least. And I'm sure there are some who may or may not agree with what I said said about Dario's game. I'm also not going to continue to go back & forth with you on the messages on a player with so little impact to the game as Dario. Again it's a difference of opinions. If Ayton who has talent can be raked through the coals for his flaws then we certainly can critique Dario's game who you even said has limitations.

Except isn’t that exactly what we were doing? I’m not sure where you get this idea that people (and me) think that Dario is infallible.

You have an opinion, I disagree. It’s point-counterpoint. It’s how discussions work.

The Ayton discussions were more heated because a) he was actually playing and b) Ayton is a far more important player.

Every player can be evaluated and it’s ok that evaluations can be different. Again if you don’t want to have a discussion that’s fine. Not sure why you posted then.

Chaplin "Better Off Silent" well that says it all. You need to heed those very words. But instead you just rather have an constant agruement. I see your post to others and how you respond. I don't post on this board that much in fact I just started posting the last 3 months or so even though it says I joined in 2009. Majority of the people on this board are pretty cool unfortunately you are not among in that group. Certainly hope our paths do not cross again. Hope you have a better day tomorrow and I'm not being sarcastic. This should be a board of discussion not one of nit picking to critcize unnecessarily. I'm really done this time as I'm finished! It's all about the Suns and winnineg that championship!!!!

Not sarcastically, did you know this forum has an Ignore button in a user's profile? Ignore was new to me, because all other forums I've visited on any topic (which mostly don't use this design) didn't have that. Use it and everyone's happy.

Just because I disagreed with you about Dario Saric? Really? Wow

I get being upset but didn’t expect a personal attack. Have a good day.

Ehh, there's always some Suns topic to discuss. It's just that none of them interest enough people.

Here is one. I am still interested in Ricky Rubio, and I only today found out that he doesn't have a huge untradable contract. He may be physically diminished after his ACL surgery, but Cameron Payne was so bad last season that an aging post-ACL Rubio is probably still better than him. I wonder whether the Cavaliers would take any of the Suns' 2022 disappointments in trade for him. If they understandably didn't want Payne, maybe they would take Shamet. I think Shamet has the worst contract on the payroll (in relation to performance) and I would love to get rid of it.

It's not just about Rubio in relation to Payne. I have been interested in Rubio because of what I understand he accomplished for the Suns. I keep supposing that to have led the Suns to take the bubble out of nowhere and almost win it, Rubio must have great heart, toughness, etc. I would be eager to get such a player back. What depth the Suns would then have at PG, with Rubio backing up Paul.

Rubio is temporarily untradable because he just signed his contract, but would become tradable in December.
You will get no argument from me moving on from Payne. Not sure if the Rubio thing is even feasible but if it was? I would take Rubio in a backup role in a heartbeat over Payne.

And the only reason I avoided calling Payne "trash" as a player is because I felt guilty. It carries too many insulting connotations; and no doubt Payne is a great person. But you'll notice that no one here ever tries to defend Payne's performance in 2022--becuse they can't.

As for Rubio: because I see Ricky Rubio as the Jeff Hornacek in what was obviously the biggest Suns trade since Charles Barkley, I see the prospect of re-acquiring Rubio (to back up Paul) as the equivalent of the Barkley-era Suns re-acquiring Jeff Hornacek after 1993. (Yes: since Hornacek could and did play point, what if he had been there to back up KJ at point guard all the times KJ got injured?)
I know the prevailing argument here is that maybe Payne rebounds this year. He might. However, my issues is that if Payne we can have an on year then an off year, we need a more consistent backup. He was awful from mid-march on and his 3 point shooting dropped off a cliff last year. Again, he might bounce back this year but I would like to see someone better.

I'm really getting nervous about Cam Johnson's situation. I really hope they move Crowder and manage to keep CJ. There's been some trade proposals involving Cam, laughable trades but everyone knows we are over the cap and he's up for a contract extension. I really like Cam, he's probably my favorite player behind Booker.

First was John Collins for Cam/Crowder/Shamet and a pick. That'll just gut our bench and there goes our two shooters (not Jae lol).

Then i saw the AD for DA/Cam from an anonymous exec LOL.

I wouldn't be shocked to see them slot Cam J as the starter this year at the 4 to see what they have in him (especially if they move Crowder). I think that would likely decide if they move him or keep him. What scares me though is Cam's size at the four. He is going to be a ragdoll with any teams that have size at that position. The Suns have a big decision to make with him considering where this team is in salary.

Yes, so that's exactly why I hope he doesn't play that position. He doesn't belong there.

Regrettably, the reason they would put him there comes down to money.
Cam can absolutely play the 4 against 90% of the league.

I keep seeing Westbrook for Buddy Hield and Myles Turner.. I just see little value in Westbrook. Would Buddy and Myles be an improvement to what we have?

I would hate to see Cam go, drop Crowder for a bigger PF and Start Cam J as a small ball pf. Ish has decent size for that spot but Is he gonna be NBA ready? He's still here so someone likes him. We need some fellas to step up some need to have career seasons for this to work as is.

They'd be an upgrade but too expensive. We'd need to match salaries, which would take 3-4 players like Jae, Saric, and Shamet. Then the talent upgrade is a bit more questionable.

Besides the salary matching, the reason the Westbrook for Hield and Turner makes more sense than a Suns deal is the Lakers will be including 2 future 1sts. That's the real haul, Westbrook would be bought out. The Pacers basically get a 1st for each player. The Suns would be fools to throw in picks plus the players they'd need to part with.

Yeah, the Pacers are not trying to win, for us to send them nearly 40 million in salary we'd have to gut our depth, and it still wouldn't move the needle for Indy because they don't care about adding quality, they're in a rebuild, they want picks.

If Westbrook gets traded to them he almost certainly will never play a minute there, they will buy him out.

Russell Westbrook is ultimately like Charles Barkley or Allen Iverson: a great talent but a loser as far as winning a championship. It doesn't interest me how many whatever and whatever Westbrook averaged. I only wonder why it didn't lead him anywhere near a championship, and blame him for it.
If the only metric of success is championships then every league in every sport is populated by 95% losers. Imo it’s a silly way to judge a player. Though success in basketball may be most influenced by a single player your inference that players like Barkley or iverson are losers shows a knee-jerk, unsophisticated, ignorant perspective. It lacks understanding of the need for a minimum of 7 other players whose caliber or fit has to rise to championship level, it ignores the impact a coach and his staff have in winning, it fails to take into account things like health and opponent or rules of the era. And it exalts players like Robert horry, who couldn’t carry Barkley’s jock, over vastly superior players. Whenever I hear the talking heads refer to Barkley never winning a championship I always want to ask them “did you beat Michael Jordan in finals? Did anyone?”

Also, westbrook played in the 2012 finals. You can’t get any closer to a championship without winning one than that. So your entire premise that westbrooks talents “didn’t lead him anywhere near a championship” is wrong.

He couldn't mention that because then his whole KD narrative of being a front runner falls apart. Yes, KD took the easy way to a title in Golden State but he was paid max money to do so, so I can't really blame him for that. He also chose to leave to try and lead another franchise to a title. He's failed so far but he could have stayed and won 2-3 more titles, at least, with the Warriors.
