Look I had a discussion with someone that always seems to have the inside word. He has been way ahead on some really big stories and sometimes flat out misses cause it turns out to be rumor.
The discussion lately is that Minnesota is putting together a package to offer the Phoenix Suns.
Minnesota 100% gauranteed wants to deal their #7 pick this 2006 draft.

Minnesota #7 2006 pick first round rookie draft

to Phoenix

Kurt Thomas
#21 pick first round rookie draft

The deal is when franchises are happy with their prior trades with each other they tend to look at that teams roster again for trade possibilities.

===================================================================================================================

Then the 2nd trade is the following between Bryan Colangelo and the Phoenix Suns. This trade is a very simple straight up trade.

Suns send
#21 pick overall
1st round pick of Atlanta next season
Kurt Thomas - cap relief 8 million per year and doesnt fit in.
SHawn Marion - a player that BC absolutely feels is the most explosive player on the suns. While Robert Sarver feels he is the highest paid 15.6 million and we could get better value elsewhere.

Toronto
# 1 overall 2006 rookie draft (highest 3 players rated for the Suns are 1. Andre Bargnani 2. Brandon Roy 3. Adam Morrison)
Charlie Villaneuva (6-11 small forward)
Jose Calderon

Summary; This would free the Suns 24 million dollars in cap relief, which they would leave them 17 million after resigning Boris Diaw. That is alot of money to have free under the cap. It allows the Suns to stay cap friendly and puts this lineup on the floor.

Andre Bargnani ( tore up Chris bosh in preseason game last year)
Amare Stoudemire
Charlie Villaneuva
Raja Bell
Steve Nash
6th man - Boris Diaw
Leandro Barbosa
Jose Calderon
+16million to trade or pick up another player in free agency either 2006 season or 2007 season. That is a very tough team considerring the amount of cap space they would have projected.

I just wanted to print this whether it goes down or not I think you will hear about this very early summer. Again it could be Adam Morrison or Brandon Roy also.

I would cry if that 2nd trade happened. The first trade could be pretty good even though I love KT. As long as TT plays this good it would be better to get rid of Kurt's contract and get a high pick.

i like the minny trade.

the second one would have to be sold on me. marion and the 21 and atlanta's pick (which i think will net us a fantastic player) for charlie, bargnani, and calderon . . . hmm. if nothing else our frontline would be incredibly big.

I suppose if the goal was to become softer than a double-stuffed down pillow, those trades make a lot of sense.

Minnesota doesn't have any room to take on Kurt Thomas's salary. That trade doesn't come close to working under the CBA.

Minnesota trade: I really don't see why Minnesota does that trade. Will they continue to throw veterans around KG until something works? The #7 is the highest pick they have had for some time.

Toronto trade: I think it is unlikely for BC to deal with the Suns right away. I think it wn't go over well with the Toronto fans especially considering it's the #1 pick. A smart move by BC would be to switch picks with Chicago or another team with a high pick and maybe come away with a pg like Duhon.

Are either of those teams far enough under the cap to be able to take in all of the salary involved in those trades? Minn taking KT 7-8 million salary and Toronto would be taking about $23 million in that trade.

Probably cause her favorite player is Boris Diaw and the hawks are now realizing wha they lost. I also am interested in hawkville(though I dont have the time to go there) to see how they explain away the Diaw trade.

I think it makes some pretty good sense for MIN. If they are set on keeping KG, they really need to get some positive, veteran help around him. That coupled with what many experts deem a pretty weak draft class, this trade would provide some more firepower as KG's window to win in MIN starts to close.

KT for Jaric and Eddie Griffin works, under the CBA and in our system.

What in the hell would the Suns want with Jaric? Are they the only team in the league yet that doesn't know he can't play?

I wouldn't be close to happy with that second trade. The first one I could live with, but as many have pointed out it doesn't work.

I'd rather have Atlanta's pick next year than the #1 pick this year. I don't want Adam Morrison either, and I might roll myself into a pond if they traded up to #1 to take him.

I have no problem with posting these type of rumors. Frankly it's fun stuff to talk about. I just don't like the one that works.

I would puke, sheesh, where the heck is LaMarcus Aldridge rated? I didn't even really look at the Trade but this statement right here... :thud:

I would have to think about the second trade. I really like that Atlanta pick, but I am deathly afraid that they will drastically improve next season to at least late lottery.

They have the #5 pick this season, as well the strong possibility in a S&T with Harrington. Then there is the rumor of them putting together a package for AI......

Shawn has had some great games this post season, and just as many horrible ones. I would absolutely love for him to retire a Sun, but we just cannot afford to pay him after next season. If we get the chance to trade him for 3 good young players - we have to take it.

The Chicago rumors come from an article that was in the Chicago Tribune about how they should make a move for Marion.

I am convinced the Suns have a two season window to win it all with mostly this roster. In 2008, KT comes off contract and Marion enters his final year. I expect they will break up this team at that point as the build around Amare, Boris, and Raja. Hopefully the Suns will find a big and PG to develop for the transition.

BBall those are rated in the Suns system. LaMarcus Aldridge is already named Amare. Bargnani would be a running center much like Diaw.
Roy has like 0 flaws coming into the NBA he is NBA ready
Morrison may be the best player college has seen since the days of Larry Bird.
My god he had Gonzaga on TV every week.

Players like Tyrus Thomas dont rate high with Phoenix

Well if the Suns made that Trade, they'd be giving up 5 assests (sp) for 3... why would the Team need Tim Thomas when Bargnani and Villanueva are on Roster, so kiss him goodbye too. I just don't like Bargnani and Morrison being talked about as #1 Pick (for the Suns).

Tyrus Thomas is only 6'9, I can see why he may not be #1 Pick for the Suns but Aldridge is 6'11 - can run just as fast as Amare and has an mid-range shot... puts up stats across board, defender, and is a pretty good athlete. Aldridge is more of a Center than Bargnani, not sure why he isn't even in Top-3... let alone #1.

Teams would Pick apart the Suns with Morrison and Nash on Roster, wow... and Bargnani sounds like another perimeter player. Barbosa and Diaw are going to be getting contracts 1 year away, so you really can't go out and spend much money...

I would rather have another taller Amare, than an shorter Dirk... IMO Aldridge has more potential to get there than Bargnani.

lol sorry I'm not picking on ya BTW but the Suns would finally get the #1 Pick and Draft a player that has more bust possibillity than a player at #1 I can remember (since Kandi-man probably).

I'm at a loss here. Can you have too many Amares on one team? Aldridge would not play the high post, for sure, but he can play the KT role much better than KT could, and you can bet your bottom dollar he would make Brand work very hard for his points.
