At the very best I think Adam Morrison will be a borderline All-Star. At worst he's a total bust. When he's on defense NBA players of just about all calibers will kill him.

Have any of our foreign posters actually watched Bargnani? I would love to get a non-biased opinion of his game time skills.

Tyrus Thomas is only 6'9, I can see why he may not be #1 Pick for the Suns but Aldridge is 6'11 - can run just as fast as Amare and has an mid-range shot... puts up stats across board, defender, and is a pretty good athlete. Aldridge is more of a Center than Bargnani, not sure why he isn't even in Top-3... let alone #1.

I would rather have another taller Amare, than an shorter Dirk... IMO Aldridge has more potential to get there than Bargnani.

My sediments exactly. If the Suns would trade up in to the top spot, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to take anyone BUT Aldridge. The long term potential of an Amare-Aldridge front-court is potentially dominant. My view is you cannot have enough good, quality front court players and Aldridge fits that bill very nicely.

This trade is a small possibility, but I know Portland is looking to pretty much completely overhaul their entire team this summer. Rumor has it that Telfair is the point gaurd they are looking at trading out. If some previous trades for Portland go through, a possibility of a trade something along these lines could happen between Portland and Phoenix.

Phoenix gets:

Joel Przybilla (resign starting @ $3 mil)
Viktor Khryapa ($1.172 mil--Signed extension starting @ $3 mil in 2008)
Sebastian Telfair ($1.793 mil--Signed extension starting @ $3.8 mil in 2008)

Portland gets:
#27 pick in 2006 NBA Draft
Kurt Thomas ($7.355 mil)
Leandro Barbosa ($1.679 mil--Signed extension starting @ $3.5 mil in 2008)

if possible i would MUCH rather go after Jarret Jack. Jack just seems more like Nash in a way, while Telfair reminds me more of maybe Marbury or Alston. i could be way off basis though.

How about something like:

Suns trade:
KT, Barbosa, #21 ,#27, 2008 second via cleveland
Suns get:
Brown, Jack, #15

Hornets trade:
Brown, #15
Hornets get:
KT, Juan Dixon, #27

Blazers trade:
Jack, Juan Dixon
Blazers get:
Barbosa, #21, 2008 Second via Cleveland

use the #15 pick to go after a big man such as Sheldon Williams or Cedric Simmons. Brown would give us a nice expiring contract which would offset Diaw's extention, allowing us to keep the team intact. keeping tim thomas would be much easier also. Jack would be a great backup for this team i believe and would learn more from Nash that Telfair IMO.

Amare/Brown
Diaw/Williams
Marion/Thomas
Bell/Jones
Nash/Jack

How about Marion for Garnette, Kobe for Raja, and what the heck, we get Howard for Barbosa and a Philly Cheese steak! Heck, our team is arguably the fourth best team in all the NBA right now. Let's trade everyone for the NBA all first team. Like any of the teams that we mention in trades would even do 10% or 5% of the trades brought up here. Jeez!!!

Oh HELL NO! They should at least throw in a center, too! That's downright thievery! Maybe Lebron plays small forward for us since we got Wade as a two guard for Tschitisvilli? :)

Until we find out who the new Blazers owners are and what their strategy is and who the bring in as GM (PLEASE not Nash) Blazers trade talk is iffy. Even though I did a little in another thread

If Telfair could play as free as Nash and at the same time as disciplined I'd take Telfair on his potential and raw skills but I think Jack is the better bet also.

Good?

Only if they throw in Z, Donyell Marshall and Drew Gooden, while agreeing to pay 90 percent of the salaries of each.

Sounds fair to me.

I don't see why Portland would do that.

I would hate that trade for the Suns. Trade away the Suns ONLY interior defender/good rebounder and a raising star in Barbosa for Telfair? He's a nice player, but hasn't done much to impress me.

Forget trades, lets give this team a shot. If healthy the Suns are the best team in the league. The Suns need to stop blowing up the team each year, consistency is important in sports.

The only players I'd really be happy being moved are: Jones, House, Burke, Grant, Tskita, & Thompson.

The Suns need to do a better job in the draft, who was the last productive player they've gotten in the draft? LB? Thats sad, thats been 3 years, lets get a young PG and some sort of big who we can develop. If they are just going to ride the pine and be practice bodies anyway, at least their young and probably better than Pat Burke and Brian Grant

Come on Barbosa is not going to be a star. Maybe we could actually find a silly GM who would give up a lottery pick for him or something crazy but other than scoring Barbosa does nothing really well and follows up good plays with horrible plays. He can't play PG but if he plays SG he is a liability defensively.
I guess teams with playmakers at the 2 would want Barbosa. Teams like Cleveland, Los Angeles, Houston etc

With Diaw on the team and Amare coming back, LB is a good fit as 6th man off bench. Trading him for Telfare or any other PG makes no sense. However, I'd have no problem if we get KG for Marion + LB + other comp.

On top of that, Portland would be stupid to do that trade anyway.

I don't think that trade makes this team any better. Marion for Garnett makes much more sense. Not because I don't like Marion. I love Marion but Garnett is probably THE ONLY player I would trade Marion for.

Nash with a front court of Amare and Garnett would be unreal.

I would trade Marion for a tall glass of water and a stick of gum... He pulled another disappearing act in the playoffs, with the exception of a handful of games.

How do you expect people to take you seriously when you post stuff like this?

Nah... he showed up big time these playoffs EXCEPT for a handfull of games. You had it backwards. Besides you were asking him to be Amare this playoffs and nobody could have done a better job. Without Marion we don't make it out of the first round.

Plus he does so many other things besides scoring. Look at his other stats. Unless its for Garnett the Suns better not pull the trigger.

Bye-bye, Marion?

It's been a fantastic 7 year ride with Marion's athletics and defense, but is this the end of the line? This was by far his best postseason ever, but it was still inconsistent. If all the Garnett talk has teeth, I'd love for the Suns to make a move on him. Here's how I would go about it:

PHX sends:

Marion, Jones, Tskitishvili, #21

PHX receives:

Garnett

MIN sends:

Garnett

MIN receives:

Chandler, Deng, Jones, #21

CHI sends:

Chandler, Deng

CHI receives:

Marion, Tskitishvili

PS - If you don't like the trade threads, don't pay any attention to this. It is now officially the offseason and I think that we have an opportunity to make this team better even if it's not Garnett. I believe Marion is gone and I enjoy concocting these scenarios and I enjoy reading everyone else's ideas on things of this nature....

I would rather entertain threads about Marion for a true Backup Point Guard and a Shot blocker rather than Garnett. I don't think we can get Garnett for Marion now.

I don't think so. I hope there's not much of a change this offseason, but if we can get Garnett I'd go for it. I think Marion will be here 1 more year though and then he'll be gone. Leandro should be traded and we should get a good PG to back up Nash. One who can play some D too. That's the only change I really want to see. And if they can they should try to add another bench player, one that won't dissapear in the playoffs.

I think that is something we can find in FA. You don't trade a player of Marion's caliber for a backup PG and a Steven Hunter. It would be great to go into the season with a starting lineup of Nash-Bell-Diaw-Garnett-Stoudemire with Barbosa as the 6th man and the 2 Thomases rotating in up front. Now you add a vet PG for the minimum who can play 16-20 minutes and we have a 9 man rotation that is SOLID as a rock. This is what I'm hoping for, but we shall all see what actually happens....

I tried to respond to this, but the thread had been moved, and I lost my lengthy post.

Thanks a lot, moderators. Can you please just settle down a bit?

Except that may be what his worth is around the league. How many GMs think that Shawn Marion has the same value as Kevin Garnett? Not many, I'd think.
