Are you saying since a fan doesn't say a player suck to his face that it invalidates how bad that player sucks? Is that a prerequisite for having an opinion? Sounds pretty ridiculous to me. So, if I find that movie sucks but I don't have the guts to hunt down the director or actor...that means what exactly?

Frye went through a streak of real suckage and diserved to be blasted. There is nothing wrong for saying a player sucks.....well while he sucks. If said player improves, what is wrong with acknowledging he is playing well when he actually is?

It sounds like what your saying is once you slam a player for playing like crap your forever barred from acknowledging he is playing well. That to me is mind boggling.

Did he go overboard with his hate? Probably. However, I was happy to see he could overcome it and actually give Frye his due. I respect him more for that as a fan.

I'm not saying fans can't say a player sucks now and then because I have done so too, but when someone goes to the extreme he has, that is way overboard and it's not normal. Maybe I'm in the minority but if you think that behavior is normal, then I'm glad I'm not like that or my friends.

Im with Lefty on this one. Don't ride a guy like hes a red headed step child all year then have the balls to jock him when he hits a game winning shot.

All the people hating on the Brooks trade are straight ignorant. The pick is lottery protected in the WEAKEST draft in a decade, we got the best player, and while i liked Dragic, you could tell his time playing overseas changed him for the worse this year. I wouldn't be surprised if hes in Europe in 3 years.

Trading for Brooks was the classic Buy low trade. Taking advantage of a Houston team that wasnt meeting expectations and needed a scape goat and had been injured and pissed he didnt get paid. And rightfully so. Dude scored 19 ppg LAST YEAR.

lol the whole Suns being poorly run is a self fulfilling prophecy. Im on board with Babby and Blanks. Last two trades made ABSOLUTE sense to me, and I give them credit for seeing the lay of the land and making a playoff push.

Are we contenders? God no. And no trade available was gonna change that.

But it sure beats watching the playoffs from home, and having the "reward" being the #12 pick in a terrible draft.

jagu the #1 Channing Frye hater:
I don't think it was a hatred of Frye. I think it was a "hatred" of how the front office (a) brought in a Point-Small Forward to play Power Forward, forcing (b) Frye to play Center.

Hedo is obviously not a Power Forward. Frye is obviously not a Center, despite his size. And Lopez, with his one-handed push rebounds is certainly not a skilled Center, even for his twelve minutes a game.

Now Gortat gives us a Center (after Lopez makes a couple of baskets, as long as that lasts) and Frye doesn't have to pretend to be something he is not.

'You want to accuse us of hating? Recognize that it's directed toward the banker who tried his best to screw up any pride we have in our team.

And while we're at it, let's give due credit to Alvin Gentry for keeping the team and fans on an even keel until the Polish Savior arrived, making just about every player on the 2010-'11 Suns better, as well as our record.

Nah, it was hatred of Frye, last season Frye wasn't the primary focus, it was Amare.
i understand being pissed at a player's performance, but at one point i began to think he was actually pining for them to fail, so they can be traded.
I respect his appreciating Frye now and actually commending him, but like in the past, i cant help but feel he is bidding his time and waiting for Frye to slip up again :)

Despite his improvement, Frye is not yet a full-fledged NBA Power Forward.

Human nature is funny that if someone goes from a D to a C, we back him because he's trying. But he is still not as good as someone who goes from a B+ to a C+. We like his effort better, but it still leaves him as a C when facing his opposition. C is medium. Medium is .500.

There will be nights when his 23-foot shots will not fall and his average-at-best defending and rebounding vs. Power Forwards will not prevail.

It's the same story as any tweener, whether the Brazilian Blur, Gortat, undersized Power Forwards or Frye -- too soft to be a PF (or certainly Center) but to big to keep up with Small Forwards.

Sooner or later, it catches up with a team. Later being the playoffs.

Correct, but unlike last season, Frye's game has changed. Especially on the defensive end. This year, even while his shots were not falling, Frye was contributing nicely on the other end.
He is also a lot better at taking advantage when the opponent switches by posting up his man, and he is playing extremely closer to the basket this season.

Thanks. I am not angry at Frye as much anymore. It's not often he does mind boggling mistakes and shots that hit nothing. He doesn't lack much confidence either now. As for going overboard with hate, yea, I might do that but it doesn't make me any less a fan than Lefty or anyone else. I care about the Suns and it bugs the crap out of me when I see players with no confidence, hussle, intelligence, getting millions of dollars and not helping the team. My Frye hate is well documented but I respect the guy for becoming an NBA player. Don't see why its such a big issue for Lefty though.. I'm not the first fan to hate on a basketball player on the team I root for and I certainly won't be the last.

Hahaha, I don't think Frye will ever suck that bad again. He has Thortat in practice to make him better!! I wasn't pining for him to fail, I got sick of some of his play on the court so bad it was getting to me... yea it wasn't "normal." Everytime he would be wide open, clutch and pass it off, I'd cringe in pain lol. In the offseason, I was hoping that the Suns wouldn't re-sign Frye and when they gave him a nice chunk of money and years I was like uh oh. Early on it looked bad, the guy has got it together now and playing the most inspired ball of his life. Props to him and I don't think giving him props for getting it together is a bad thing for me to say even though I hated him. I call it like I see it, that's all.

Can anyone remember the last time we won a game like this? I really can't remember us winning a buzzer beater game like this in a long time.

Penny hardaway agains the raptors like 10 years ago?

Jrich against OKC last year and Barbosa against the Bulls couple of years ago.

I love when Hill's shot is falling, the guy is still in his "prime" lol. There's a guy I can never get on. Intelligent, talented, hard-working, confident basketball player. I'll miss him if he plans on retiring (I hope not).

Not sure you need or want my support bro but....
Its just the homer mentality that says one cannot be openly objective when evaluating a player or the home team over the course of time.......especially when that player or team does makes strides in a positive way, after being crap.
Dont fret it DG. You're just being honest.
