The Pelicans have never surrounded Davis with shooters. He has suffered from bad teammates more than any star in recent memory. I think the only good shooter he's played with was Ryan Anderson, who plays the same position that he does, so it wasn't a good fit. They overpaid this last summer for Jrue Holiday and that will hurt them going forward because they can't afford to bring in anyone else, especially if they resign Cousins. Those 2 are bad fits around Davis and allows the front office to say that they're trying to surround him with good players.
