PHOENIX - The Phoenix Suns will introduce their newest member to the media at an 11:30 a.m. press conference on Wednesday, July 11 at the US Airways Center practice court on Level 0. FSN Arizona will televise the press conference live.

Free agent forward Grant Hill officially signed with the Suns today. The team introduced him to Valley media at an 11:30 a.m. news conference at US Airways Center.

Hill, who has averaged 20 points in 12 seasons, announced last week his intentions to join the Suns. According to his agent, 15 teams showed interest, including Detroit, San Antonio and Orlando.

"I'm very excited," Hill said. "I've watched the team and the organization from afar. When free agency started, this team was No. 1 on my list."

During the news conference it was announced that former Suns center Alvan Adams, whose No. 33 is retired by the Suns, told the team he would relinquish the number for Hill to wear with the Suns.

Hill said he was enticed by Suns coach Mike D'Antoni's up-tempo style of play.

"I love his sytle of play and love his approach to the game," Hill said.

Hill will be paid $1.83 million for the coming season with a $1.97 million player option for 2008-09.

Alvan Adams was listed at 6'9", 210 lbs. Hill is 6'8", 225 lbs. Stick that guy in the center circle!
