interesting. Depending on who we give up, I dig it. He’s the general/floor leader that could take all these young guys and teach them how to win... until the second round.

but I’d take that! Depending on what they’d have to give up.

To make the salaries work it would be at least Oubre and Rubio... who knows if it would take more, and if so, how much more.

why am I even a damn fan. Why does this team hate me

you’d have to trade half the team to make the money match

Suns gets: Paul

OKC gets: Rubio, Oubre, Cam Johnson, Cam Payne and 10

only way OKC does that is for 10. There GM loves draft picks.

yeah... just came to same conclusion. Initially thought I’d want more for Oubre but if the above is what it takes and we still get to keep the 10th pick and go out and get a PF, if Paul’s legs don’t fall off, it not only vaults us into the playoffs, but I think possibly a 4 seed.

if we want to keep Book, we HAVE to start getting into the playoffs at minimum.

I’m not trading half the team for an ancient Chris Paul who before this run this year was pretty much on his death bed and hadn’t been healthy in a minute.

Paul is one of the greatest underachievers in the history of the NBA.

It wouldn’t take have the team, but I completely understand the sentiment.

Nope.

rubio + oubre gets it done and would be a no brainer trade steal of the century type move.

The 10th pick cant be included, and we have to ship out Ty Jerome for me to be down with this. I still would not like it though.

Rubio, Oubre, Cam Johnson and Cam Payne is what it would take just to make the money match.

The Suns are under the salary cap so the salaries do not have to match.

Far from a no brainer deal. Paul is OLD and fragile.

We are doing them a favor by freeing up cap room. To me Oubre and Rubio alone is too high a price, if we throw in any draft picks I will be livid.

I suck at the cap, but I think we could do it with just Rubio, Jerome, and Kaminsky (team option)... but I doubt that would get it done and it would kill all of our cap space.

2 years 85 million left on that Paul contract lol

Major value given that he

(1) is a perennial top5 real plus minus guy
(2) has shown no signs of slowing down
(3) has a high skill game that will almost certainly age gracefully in his 35/36 seasons
(4) fits a massive need as creator/scorer to spell Booker when he’s sitting.
(5) excellent defender and communicator on both ends of the floor to maximize potential of DA and other young pieces (Mikal and Cam especially)

Are you kidding me?

trading for a 35 year old point guard who’s been injured the last 4 years and is owed almost 90 million is def not a steal of the century type trade.

I was just ready to post the Suns could do the trade with Rubio and some smaller contracts.

No thank you. That would be just like the Suns to be the last team holding the Chris Paul hot potato when the music stops playing.

fragile?

he missed two games last year and played 31mpg?

Rubio is absolutely a poor man’s Paul that isn’t nearly the shooter/scorer/clutch player. Oubre is walking next year anyway and is somewhat expendable anyway given Cam and Mikal’s development.
