I can see taking a flyer on Shamet to see if he fills a role... although the role he fills was hardly the Suns' greatest need. But the huge extension before he had done literally anything here is what has me dumbfounded. James Jones outsmarting himself, it would seem... at least, so far.

This is a really bad take. Blowing the 10th pick has no bearing on picks later in the draft. Unless you’re saying we can’t draft worth crap and that’s why the 28th pick is nothing. But that’s different than saying a late first round pick is next to nothing.
