The assets we gave up were nothing, but the contract is an issue, yeah.We really gave up assets for Landry Shamet then paid him.

Yep that’s the #1 disappointing thing.Looks like we ran out of gas tonight.
Bridges sucked all the way around tonight. His complete inability to step up without Booker sucks.
Yeah, I think this is what we got with Bridges. He is who he is going to be. He’s 25, so he’s not a super young guy.Looks like we ran out of gas tonight.

Disagree about Cam. I don’t think Monty has done him any favors.Bridges and cam were good rookies. Got a little better, and definitely improved on defense. But otherwise all of their numbers have plateaued. I think this is who they will be for their careers.

Sorry a first round pick that amounts to almost a 2nd is nothing.First round picks aren’t nothing, IMO. Other teams find guys who can contribute even at the end of the first round. Even on contenders.
Giving him that awful contract just compounded the matter. And yes, for anyone who wants to argue otherwise, a no dimensional player who’s also not a good defender is a bad contract at almost 10 million per no matter what the cap goes up next year because it goes up for everyone.
You can disagree but his numbers across almost every measure are identical across three years.Disagree about Cam. I don’t think Monty has done him any favors.
I can see taking a flyer on Shamet to see if he fills a role... although the role he fills was hardly the Suns' greatest need. But the huge extension before he had done literally anything here is what has me dumbfounded. James Jones outsmarting himself, it would seem... at least, so far.First round picks aren’t nothing, IMO. Other teams find guys who can contribute even at the end of the first round. Even on contenders.

Which is why I asked about his minutes. He needs time to improve. He’s improved his defense but if he doesn’t have time to expand his game he’s not going to.You can disagree but his numbers across almost every measure are identical across three years.
We picked Jalen Smith at 10. I’m sorry, a #28 pick means next to nothing. That’s your opinion. I think it’s wrong and we’ve seen guys contribute on good teams from those spots before. Simply saying they’re nothing because you want to defend the move, doesn’t make it so.
