The latest twitter comments from Jae Crowder.

They were talking about Crowder this morning. They are saying this is all the Suns. Crowder is NOT forcing himself out of Phoenix. The speculation is that the Suns simply don't want to invest long term in Crowder and agreed to part ways.

So, unless there is something the Suns are not telling us, I have no ill will towards Crowder. Sounds like this wasn't him.

Under the radar Jae Crowder trade idea.

Crowder to Sacramento fo
Richaun Holmes and a second round pick.

Works straight up. Sac does it because Sabonis makes Holmes expendable. Crowder has one year left, Holmes has three. That is why the second-round pick to Phoenix. Phoenix is eating more salary in this deal.

Suns get a bit more depth at big.

i approve. Throw Biyombo in the deal. But with Jock working out, Holmes is not as necessary as he might have been a month ago, unless Jock could play power forward. I was disappointed we let Holmes go. He was a sparkplug. we need a sparkplug guy

Crowder did give us fire, but he didn't have FIRE-power and his antagonistic play would too often back-FIRE by FIRing up our opponents (which, btw, i wish Booker would be careful about. Firing up a Klay Thomson is one thing, but it doesn't help to get a Doncic or Paul George worked up)

I doubt the Suns told Crowder not to play this season. There must be a disagreement about something.

Players don't normally sit out the last year of their contract if healthy and for about $10 million at that.

The Suns may not have wanted an unhappy player around.

Btw, who are they?

I can see them saying that he could sit out while both sides looked for trade options. Maybe they just felt his game was not helping, or maybe there was some locker room conflict with another player (CP3, Book?).

Something is going on. Crowder can play and be a positive influence while awaiting a trade. The Suns wouldn't want another Trevor Ariza or Eric Bledsoe situation.

I don't see the Kings trading Holmes in what amounts to a salary dump.

That's bull. He is the one that decided to skip camp and stay away from the team.

Suns don't see a future with him, but that doesn't mean they wouldn't let him play this season.

Even if they would, we don't need Holmes. We already have Landale.

Holmes is not a power forward at all. He has no perimeter game, and he's not quick enough to guard 4's.

If it's more than being a starter and an extension with Crowder, I want to know what.

It may provide a hint at why the Suns collapsed against the Mavericks in the playoffs.

That's not what they are saying. They are saying the Suns/Crowder agreed he would skip camp. Sounds like this was brewing for some time. We may never know but notice how the Suns have not denied what Crowder is saying.....that he is forcing his way out of Phoenix. That would be very easy to deny or counter.

PHX gets: Durant
Nets get: Cam Johnson, Crowder, Saric, 4 1st, 3 pick swaps
Salary doesnt come close to matching. It would have to be Mikal. Too many picks. We would be the Lakers in a few years and an injury to CP3 or Durant and we're screwed.

It doesn't require Mikal or Ayton to get salaries to work but it would require Craig and Shamet also being included and then you're talking 5 for 1 but I would imagine Brooklyn would throw in some minimum salary guys so they didn't have to waive them like Nader when he was included in the CP3 deal.

Of course if you're Phoenix then you do that deal, a bunch of role players for KD is a no brainer but I doubt Brooklyn would bite. Perhaps Brooklyn has more interest in DA now that they could acquire him and wouldn't be hard capped like a sign and trade would do. There was talk that is why they didn't want DA and not necessarily his talent. Being hard capped for a year would hurt a team like Brooklyn that doesn't operate like there's a luxury tax because they're in a major market and don't need to worry about things other teams do.

No we wouldn’t be. The lakers are built around a 39 year old Lebron were built around a 25 year Booker and 23 year old Ayton

Your also forgetting This is the last year for Paul to be fully guaranteed he’s gonna be off the books pretty quick freeing up a lot of money

Correct. The intimation by both Crowder and the Suns is that this is more the Suns than Crowder, but we do not know for sure.
Really? That’s why crowder decided to defiantly announce on twitter he will not be at training camp?

That is not how a player the suns told not to show up would act.

Sure he is forcing his way out, that is clear.

That doesn’t mean the Suns are happy about it, it only means they think trying to force him on the team would be more of a distraction than it is worth, and they are right.

I'm not as enthused about the Suns giving up a lot for a 34 year old Durant as I once was.

Obtaining another rotation power forward shouldn't be nearly as expensive.

Paul expiring with give us zero cap space. It will get us out of the luxury tax but it will have no impact on our ability to bring in outside talent.
