I don't see

I don't see Crowder sitting through half the season. No way. I don't think Crowder's team would let that be and I don't see the Suns sitting on Crowder that long either.
Why?

Crowder may not be happy about, but who cares. He's away from the team already. Suns would be dumb to make a deal to please him.

Because no way Crowder sits for that long. Him and his team will make it a loud nightmare first. Second, that's not how the Suns roll. They are not going to sock him away in hopes of something happening at the trade deadline. KG has been more wishy washy than a dishwasher. There is no guarantee he will want to move and no way the Suns put all the eggs in that basket again.

If there is a move to be had, he will move before that.

I'm not sure about that.

Personally I still think the plan is make a hard run at Durant or SGA or some other high quality piece at the deadline.

Waiting on an opportunity like that is more than worth it, since Suns are clearly good enough without Crowder to be solidly in the playoffs.

This could be the preferred plan, but it's really hard to trade for a star player with any certainty of getting a deal done.

Hopefully James Jones has other options in mind.

Either way, being patient is the wise move right now. Crowder's contract could be useful in a trade regardless of his trade value. You just never know what is going to happen on other teams and what players might become available as the season unfolds.

Jock has taken some pressure off of this situation. While he is not really playing as a pf, he is a big and he is defending players that Jae often defended.

Here is the Chris Haynes report on Jae Crowder during the TNT game with the Warriors.

It's about the extension. Jae knows that if he does not get extended now, it will be less next summer. He could see the minutes that Cam would take this year. His agent is probably trying to find a team that will give him an extension now. Then the Suns have to agree to a trade. That is a tough way to do a deal. I can see why it is taking so long.

I can see the conversation going like this.

JJ-"Jae, we are not going to extend you right now. We are going to wait until next summer and see where we are."
JC--"Listen man, I need a deal now. I am not getting any younger. This is my time."
JJ-"Sorry."
JC-"Can you trade me?"
JJ-See if you can find something and we will do what we can. We will excuse you while you look."
JC-"OK, thanks man."

If it’s really about the extension, it’s insane in it’s stupidity and shows he’s just an ego maniac. Can you think of any other… average starter… who raises so much of a stink about not getting an extension that he literally sits out the entire year and the team and him decide it’s better if he’s not part of the team in any way?

No team can give him an extension in season at this point.

The whole thing is stupid and makes zero sense on his part or the team’s.

I'm hoping it's not about something else. The Suns just don't need it.

It's got to be about the extension and not starting bundled together. If he were starting then securing a new deal wouldn't be such an issue but as a bench player it's harder to show others you're still capable of producing 30+ minutes a night. To accept a bench role he wanted paid and if he wasn't getting paid then he didn't want to be here coming off the bench.

You don’t think that will mess up the chemistry with our starters? If we were trading for bench players it wouldn’t be an issue but trading for players that are starters?

Well, it's not ideal, but if the opportunity comes around you have to take it, and with Webenyama being in the draft this year I think the odds of an opportunity presenting itself is much higher than normal.

Personally my number one target is SGA, and I think our 4 firsts and bench players might get that done.

Is this the year he finally takes the "Greatest Sun ever" title?
It’s pretty hard to argue for anyone else at this point. He’s won multiple division titles, gotten to the Finals (something Nash never accomplished), looks like he’s on pace to be ALL NBA 1st or 2nd Team again and was the key player who was homegrown and the catalyst to rebuild from complete scratch for what had become one of the worst franchises in all of sports.

That’s a pretty great resume for a guy who only just about to turn 26.

Some might kill me for this but I would say he is the greatest Sun ever. To me he was drafted by us and has done well. We didn’t mess that up. He is the best home grown player to me.

I would have said Nash but he was traded away and then came back. It was more like we picked up a player that was great before coming to us.

Don’t get me wrong we had some great players on our team but none home grown I can think of that has been as great.

there's a huge lesson to learn from this Crowder situation
same lesson from the Durant fiasco
and Ben Simmons

if you want to be traded don't jump the gun

the tried and true method to trade Crowder would have been to start and showcase him the first handful of games
as is, he's lost value that will cost both him and the Suns

i guess both parties assumed it wouldn't be too difficult to get done so why bother disrupting the team with a temp player

I think Crowder is just being a little B, so Suns are accommodating as best and tight lipped as they can.

Under the radar Jae Crowder trade idea.

Crowder to Sacramento fo
Richaun Holmes and a second round pick.

Works straight up. Sac does it because Sabonis makes Holmes expendable. Crowder has one year left, Holmes has three. That is why the second-round pick to Phoenix. Phoenix is eating more salary in this deal.

Suns get a bit more depth at big.
