Bogdan Bogdanovic has yet to play in preseason after having knee surgery in June.

By Duane Rankin, Arizona Republic:

Bogdanovic had knee surgery in June and has yet to return during preseason.

The Hawks announced back in June they expected Bogdanovic to make a full recovery before the 2022-23 season from surgery on his right patella tendon after being hampered by knee inflammation.

Monty and Ayton have been talking, although the contents is behind a pay wall.

Everything is reportedly back to normal.

I know 6-6 shooting guard Bogdanovic (with past knee injury) can shoot well but we need a real Power forward to replace Crowder. And 210 pound 3 point shooting forward Cam Johnson and self proclaimed strong man but inconsistent as all get out 6-7 Torrey Craig at power forward is not taking us to the finals. Just being real. Fill the need. That's a huge neglect by Suns if they do a trade like that. I like Bogdanovic skills but needs comes first.

Bogdan Bogdanovic ($18 million) might be a likely target. He has a player option for the following season.
Bogdanovich is their 6th man after trading Huerter. I too think they’re trying to get out of Collins’ contract so they can pay Hunter. I wouldn’t be opposed to taking Collins if they throw in a young guy, AJ Griffin or Jalen Johnson.

I’d rather do Dario. We won 64 games last year without Dario. It’s pretty much just giving up Crowder for Collins
Yes, and Shamet's potential ceiling is just much higher than Dario's.

If he could actually somewhat consistently play close to what he did in the last game, he would make a decent 6th man. Not saying I expect that to happen, just that it's possible.

We don't know which players will be involved if the trade happens. It's all conjecture at this point.

Mostly we are looking at which contracts might work.

Of course in a trade, each team wants a player in return that fills a need.

I will say this, getting comparable or superior talent back might be the most important factor regardless of position.

Bogdan Bogdanovic is a very good player.

I really like John Collins.

That would be a fantastic trade for the Suns providing there is not a hidden reason the Hawks are trading him..

Well, it's not "hidden" but they've had a problem with his defensive effort and awareness from the start. If you separate out the rebounding, he really is one of the weaker all around 4/5 defenders in the league. Obviously grabbing boards is a part of defense and he is a good rebounder but he's plain bad at almost every other aspect of D.

Let's not make a move just to make a move if it makes our team smaller. We are already losing Crowder, lost Mcgee, and shouldn't lose Saric too unless we get a decent big in return.

Acquiring a 24 year old player in Collins who can shoot and rebound doesn't sound like a terrible return for Crowder.

Of course it would require additional assets. The trade would have to be evaluated in it's totality.

It isn't, in fact it's a good deal for us if we don't have to load the deal with multiple picks. My point is that Collins brings two very important skills we need but he's a liability on D. But all told, I think he's a better player than Jae. I say "think" because it's difficult to quantify Jae's value in the little things including leadership and chemistry.

If the best trade the Suns can make for Jae Crowder is Justin Holiday, let him stay at home for the season and fine him for his absence.

Didn't expect you to feel so strongly in that regard but I agree 100%.

Jae Crowder signed a three-year contract and was an integral part of the Suns team the past two seasons.

If he doesn't want to uphold his contract, then let him stay home and fine him if the Suns cannot find an equitable trade.

It's not like the Suns haven't done their part to accommodate him.

There is such a thing as doing the right thing.

I haven't heard much talk about an extension for Cam Johnson lately.

Would the Suns consider including him in a trade?

I know the Suns talk glowingly about him, but do they want to go through restricted free agency again.
I think it's inevitable because of the ownership change.

If Bogdan is healthy, he fills a huge role for this team. He is instant offense off the bench. He creates his own shot. That might be more important than upgrading the pf position.

I like Bogdan and would be fine with him but really like Okongwu. He's a smaller Center but he's got a lot of upside and can play some PF, albeit the more traditional inside PF of yesteryear. With the salary Atlanta has committed to their starters they really can't retain and pay all of their youngsters like Hunter and Okongwu. They already gave away Cam Reddish.

The Suns are in the same salary position as the Hawks. They can't afford to pay much either.

Interesting poll question posed by the burns and gambo twitter today, thought it would be interesting to discuss here. Have the suns peaked?

Interesting or stupid? ;) What a weird question. I sure hope not. We haven’t even finished preseason. Obviously, they’re talking about overall in the last three years even though it’s not specified in any way other than the ridiculousness of the question. Who knows? Let’s see where we’re at mid-season and what we get for Crowder as well as any other personnel adjustments that are made (or not made).

I hate to say my answer is yes, although I really want to be wrong.

A more appropriate question might be: Has the Suns window closed?

IMO, the team as presently constructed, needs an addition or two to have a better chance to return to the Western Conference Finals or NBA Finals.
