Gambo just said Suns have not asked about Clarkson in a trade. Says they are not interested in him - most likely due to his salary.

Gambo says he thinks Clarkson could be had for Crowder and a 1st, but Suns don't seem interested.

So is Gambo still thinking Justin Holiday?

Good.

Clarkson is not a good player.

He offered no opinion on what the Suns are looking for, only that despite reporting he checked and the Suns have not proposed a trade for Clarkson.

Pretty sure he got that info from Ainge, as yesterday it was heavily hinted he called him during the show.

The player the Suns need is Bogdan or a player like him.

That scoring punch off the bench. I think they need that more than pf depth. Landale does add an interesting dynamic to this team. He, along with Biz and Ayton seems to make a solid center rotation. But Landale has a three-point shot that JaVale did not. That can make him useful at the four in some matchups and also makes it possible for him to play alongside Ayton or Biz depending on the situation. It's not a mega-minute idea but fits with some matchups.

Don't forget Super Mario who can play the 4 or 5. Crowder needed to find a new home but all the Inns are full.

Id trade Crowder for Kelly Clarkson
GET IT DONE.
I would prefer Miley Cyrus but not sure we could make the salaries match. Somebody run it through the ESPN trade machine.

Looks to me like James Jones is not in win-now (only) mode, but is looking for young talent to build on for the post-CP3 era. The bench is getting a lot younger.

I think that's a very hopeful spin on what may be going on. To me, most of these guys are just cheap dates to fill out the 15 man roster. I worry that we're already in the post CP3 hope-to-win-it-all era and are now preparing for the sale of the team more than preparing to build for the future. Hope I'm wrong but even if I'm right, unless we're selling off key players we should still be competitive if not top tier.

I hope you are correct. But I'm not sure I see much evidence. I mean yeah the scrubs we are signing on tryouts do seem to be younger, but that's about the only thing that seems to have changed.

I mean okogie isn't too old - but he also completely sucks and is unplayable. Damien Lee is not a young guy. Landale is 26 so that's not bad. Washington was just the best guard available, I think him being young was just a coincidence.

When James actually uses a draft pick, or acquires one, then I might believe he actually wants some young players.

I could be wrong, but I think James Jones is being a strategist.

He is collecting young players who have proven they are more than "skeletons."

Unless he gets a player he wants now, I think he will make a move at the trade deadline.

There should be lots of sellers on underachieving teams with good players, who are looking towards the draft.

Our CP3 window was last year IMO. I am expecting the decline in CP3 this year to be fairly significant. However, the rest of our core is young. There is no reason not to build on the young core--especially Book, Ayton, Mikal, and CamJ. Find a quality young pg--doesn't have to be an all-star--and there is a bright future ahead.

However, no, I do not think we are title contenders this year.

I think it's a response to teams like the Pelicans that made us look really old and unathletic.

I thought it might be more like Luka using his shoulder, sort of like this.

When Duane Washington Jr. is able to cut down on his turnovers, he may become the playmaker and shooter the Suns want.

I wonder if the Suns are thinking about signing Adonis Arms to a two-way contract and move Ish Wainright to a regular roster spot.

Saben Lee will find a home elsewhere, as much as I wanted to keep him here.

It would be just like the Mavericks to sign Lee.

Haven’t seen ish’s name mentioned in any of the game threads. Did he get any run during the preseason?

Wainright played 34 minutes last night (3-8) for 9 points and 5 rebounds with 3 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocks.

The Suns really like him.

Yeah he's been playing, but not as well as me or the Suns were hoping he would. That said, I still think he looks every bit as good as Craig has looked.
