Wha? Durant is our new PF/Craig is.
That's where KD has been playing, but he can be a seven foot SF too! LOL! KD gives us flexibility to bring in another wing or SG on the floor when he is in.

Kevin Ray is saying that he just got back from the Suns saying goodbye to Bridges. He said it was super emotional for the players and coaches saying goodbye to Bridges especially because he didn't want to go.

Very sad stuff. Can appreciate the good times we had and need to move on.

It's the unfortunate reality of being a professional athlete. You can be shipped off at any point in time. The plus side is they get paid millions to deal with that sort of thing.

I really feel for Bridges. This is where CP3 and Book need to step up and guide this team forward. I think this could be good for Ayton since he and Bridges were good friends. Ayton needs to learn this is a business and he's paid to produce. I trust we'll be fine chemistry wise going forward but I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple losses if KD doesn't suit up right away.

Ironically what Ayton SHOULD learn from this, is if he played like he did the other night, for his whole time here, we probably win a title and Bridges doesn't get dealt to bring in a guy to help us win a title! You want to keep your buddies, you gotta ball out! This is on Ayton as much as anyone!

Repeating from another thread because I think this is super relevant moving forward:

Following the February 9 trade deadline, the next big date to watch is March 1. Players waived after March 1 are not eligible to play in that season’s playoffs. Effectively, that’s the last day for playoff teams to add anyone who is on another team’s roster after the trade deadline.

The way this happens is that the player is waived by his current team. Upon clearing waivers, which the vast majority of players do, they become a free agent. In many of these cases, players and their former team will come to an agreement to buy out the remainder of their contract. This means the player gives back some portion of their guaranteed salary in order to become a free agent.

Sometimes these buyouts occur immediately on the heels of the trade deadline and the player clears waivers by the end of the weekend. For others, the buyout negotiations may run through the All-Star break and get completed before the end of the month. But in almost all cases, any significant buyouts will occur by March 1, to allow that player to remain playoff-eligible.

Here are some key players to keep an on eye on for the 2023 buyout market. In most cases, these are veterans on an expiring contract. Some may have some salary that goes into next season, and it’s very rare for a deal running more than two seasons to be bought out. In addition, most of these players are either out of their team’s rotation, or they are blocking minutes for a younger player to get into their team’s rotation. Or their teams are expected to make other changes before the deadline, which will push them even further to the backend of the roster.

Gambo is now reporting what happened between Jae and the team now that Jae is gone. He is saying that Monty instigated everything. In the offseason, without JJ's knowledge he called Jae over the Summer and told him he wouldn't be starting. Mainly because Monty thought Jae was difficult to manage. He felt the same about McGee which is likely why McGee left. Bottom line is Monty didn't like Jae. He said that the relationship devolved from there and Monty asked him to stay home. Jae didn't instigate staying home.

If we don’t win the title this season, Monty’s ******** is gone.

Don't you find it interesting that the two guys with "attitude" that brought that toughness are the guys Monty didn't want to manage?

I don't get how anyone could advocate for Westbrook.

He's been a legit horror show the last season and a half. A ball hog who has been horrendous at scoring and on defense he might as well not be on the court.

He's gone full Beasley.

My thinking is that the risk is non-existent. If things don't go well, you waive him.

Reward could be high- if he plays at 25% of his potential, he could easily be the best backup point guard in the league.

Why not give it a try?

He should come back on the cheap as a free agent.

Telling ya… living in LA and watching how checked out and me, me, me Westbrook still is, it’s a complete nonstarter… and that’s to say nothing about KD hating him.

I don't think he's ever going to be even in the realm of a that player again. He doesn't know how to play any other way than it being 100% him and he's declined enough that he is absolutely terrible.

Cam Payne has been worlds better, even when he was playing poorly. Reggie Jackson, also rumored to be on the buyout market, is far far better.

Westbrook has been garbage on both ends and is a massive headache.

I don't see any possibility for upside.

There’s one thing this team is missing…

An ass-kicker/bruiser. Probably not getting that this season but a… well… Jae Crowder type is what we should prob look for in the off-season.

Per Gambo, evidently, the Suns tried exploring moving Ayton instead of Bridges. The Nets said no. They had no interest in Ayton.

Sone of the best moves are the ones never made. This team is finally going to have REAL SIZE and the ability to play in so many different ways… of which Monty Will stubbornly refuse to do.

My call is we don’t win it this year. Monty is blown out. Nick Nurse is brought in and we win it next year.

Hasn’t he been really good off the bench?

No, he has had some games where he "got his" statistically, but the Lakers have been dreadful when he is on the court.

On offense he takes idiot shots, misses them at the worst rate of his career. He is shooting 41% and 29% from 3 and a huge portion of those shots are wiiiiiiiide open, teams beg him to shoot and he obliges.

On defense he literally just stands there, waiting for a chance for a rebound, he doesn't guard anyone.

Hey Nick Nurse was my idea at midnight last night when we spoke.
