Our defensive switching and rotation has been off all season long. Not much court awareness there even from Booker. And no serious instruction to correct it from the coach, apparently. I actually miss rookie Camara who'd be among the better defenders on this team.

Not amazing, but they probably make us at least a little better. I would do the Bol and a 2nd for Craig in a heartbeat.
I mean I guess so. It won't help much. Don't think Craig would want to come back either.

The guy I would like us to make a run at is Tyus Jones. Might be hard to get the salaries to work though.

I like Tyus. Doesn’t turn the ball over, solid defender, and can spot up and hit the three ball at a decent clip.

Lol… agree. But I’d still do it.

Yeah, he'd be worlds better than much of the bench.

But, I think we should use whatever shred of trade bait we have yet to get a functional point guard for the bench and to spell Booker here and there.

Wouldn’t begrudge that either. Point Book is putting up pretty stats but this offense is putrid.

Would have been nice to at least the only PG on the roster with Payne as insurance. For what end, I’m not really sure. But this no PG at all on the roster is just blowing up in this team’s face in every fourth quarter when intensity rises and our O goes the way of the dodo.

Craig wanted to come back. He commented a couple times saying he wanted to return during the off-season. He's a pro and I can't see him preferring Chicago to Phoenix.

Craig wouldn't solve all of our problems, obviously, but he'd quickly become the first forward off the bench and also part time starter over KBD and Metu. I know Craig is only 6'7" but he's a PJ Tucker/Jae Crowder type who is stocky and strong enough to play against most PF's in the league.

I still don't know how or why Damien Lee was retained over Torrey Craig. We brought in other shooters so Lee wasn't needed with Gordon and Yuta here. That's without taking his injury into account. Then there's Bol Bol who doesn't deserve a roster spot on a contender. Those 2 shouldn't be taking up roster spots.

We could have a second unit of Payne, Gordon, Okogie, Craig, and Eubanks with Goodwin, Yuta, KBD, Metu, and Little as insurance. It's not big but it's bigger than we have. Plus Craig could have been signed with bird rights, giving us much needed trade assets. Giving away Cam Payne looks awful right now as well.

Bol and Lee didn't make sense when they happened and there's no world they're more productive than Payne and Craig.

I was never on board with DLee. I think we could have had Craig for 6M?

Craig is solid and we’d know what we would get from him, effort at the least.

And the Payne and BolBol deals were head scratchers.

I'm not sure what Craig would have cost. He was a free agent and we could have paid him whatever we wanted. He signed in Chicago for the minimum so I don't think we would have needed to break the bank for him. We could have offered him $3-4 million, giving him more than the minimum but not enough to hurt us or make him feel slighted.

He was making $6.5 last season and he wasn't getting that from us or anyone. Something like I suggested, $3-4 million would have been in the ballpark of the Bi-Annual exception and been fair for both sides.

He was enthusiastic on social media responding to fans who said they wanted him back. I'd be surprised if he had the choice between the minimum here and Chicago that he'd choose Chicago. He was a model citizen here filling in wherever needed and not griping about playing time. It's perplexing that we just let him walk.

This is not a title contending team. Unfortunately, Vogel is a problem. When Book and KD are on the bench it’s a problem. The defense is a problem. The bench is a problem.

The Suns really can’t make a major trade either because of the restrictions with our cap. Barring a complete turnaround this might be failed experiment already.
