I was at the game. Great game until that foul. FJ called Whites number while Zarko was on the ground, but later decided against it. As much I wanted White to go out there, it was a good idea to leave him on the bench.

It looked like it was his right wrist, so at least it wasn't a shooting hand I guess.

So pissed........

I bet Fortson gets a slap on the wrist from the league.

Zarko is a euro rookie that no one really knows about,so the league probably doesn't give a crap.

Let Fortson do that to Lebron James though.

Fortson would've been lead outta the arena in cuffs.

Zarko is interviewing next on fox sports.

FJ said he got a call from Jerry, and he said he was going to Don Nelson to tell him from a league standpoint he is going after Fortson with everything he has. With Jerry's clout, and the nature of the foul, it should be a huge reprecussion.

But as the commentators said, Fortson is a garbage player for them, where Zarko is our #1 draft pick, and is just coming into his own.

The worst thing is that even if Fortson got suspended for 1 year it still wouldn't mean anything to Dallas. Fortson is a garbage player for Dallas and Zarko is our 7th guy off the bench and could have been a solid contributor for the Suns all season. No penalty can make up for what the Suns will lose.

Anyone know the status of Dermarr Johnson? Maybe he could help fill-in at the 3 position if he is available.

I guess this will tell whether or not the suns liked him at all. He should get a ring with Z out for so long.

This was a hell of a way to ruin a good night for the Phoenix Suns. Given the choice I would take a healthy Zarko Cabarkapa and another 30 point loss instead of tonight's game.

Is Shawn Marion expected back by the next game?

I think Shawns status is questionable for Friday. However, unless he definitely can't play, I have a feeling we will see him in the lineup.

I agree with you Joe, I would rather get killed again instead of Z getting hurt. If it was an accidental injury, thats one thing. Just the way it happened though, no punishment will suffice.

The scary thing is, he is lucky he only broke his wrist. That is pretty much the only type of play where a players can actually get critically hurt. He was going full speed in mid air and was pushed back. If he had landed on his back, neck or head, he most likely would have been carried off in a stretcher.

I hope next time the Suns play the Mavericks than Jahidi and Amare rough it up against Fortson and Dirk.

One thing I know is that if there was a brawl the Suns would kick the Mavs butt and that is even with Googs, Casey, Penny...

Here's the ESPN recap with player comments:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=231126021

Here's the part about Zarko:
In the process, though, they lost their prize rookie, Zarko Cabarkapa, for six to eight weeks with a broken right wrist.

The Suns, whose previous high this season was 100, won their fourth consecutive home game and evened their record at 7-7, the fourth time this season they have reached the .500 level, but the victory was tempered by the injury to Cabarkapa.

The 22-year-old Serbian forward was hurt on a drive to the basket with 2:58 remaining when he was pushed to the floor by Danny Fortson with Phoenix leading 112-88.

Fortson was called for a flagrant foul and ejected.

Suns owner Jerry Colangelo was livid, claiming Fortson did it intentionally.

"He's a thug," Colangelo said, adding that he would ask the NBA to either fine or suspend Fortson. "He always has been and is.

"He should be put down for every day that he (Cabarkapa) is out. I'll do everything in my power to see that happens. With the game over, there's no excuse for that."

Fortson said there was "no evil intent" for his actions, and added that he apologized to Cabarkapa.

Dallas coach Don Nelson said Fortson's push was unnecessary.

"I'd like to apologize to the Phoenix Suns organization on that ... play by Danny Fortson," he said. "I don't condone those kinds of things. It was just a bad basketball play that shouldn't have happened and Danny and I will talk about it."

Marbury called Fortson's action "a dirty play."

Hardaway agreed.

"He was definitely trying to push him," he said.

At least Nelson did not make excuses for him. The NBA needs to throw the book at him. He should be suspended until Z can play again.
WE have all vented about how bad they have been playing. They play a great game and this happens. A hit like that also could have been even worse

As dirty as that was, I hold no animosity to the rest of that Dallas team.

Fortson just made a stupid, stupid decision and he WILL pay heavily. That being said, he did apologize... if that matters.

No sense in holding enormous grudges. It just creates more negative energy.

Hopefully, Z will get healthy quick.

But, man was that a dirty play.

Is it just me or is there one common element in each of those dirty plays you mentioned above? Hmmmmm

I think NBA should create something like "Dirties play of year" and show that play repeatedly to the public as a punishment for the offender! And I guess every home opponent of that offender will show that play and has him booed off the court.
