This is Ayton's third game. It's a steep learning curve and he's making a lot of basic mistakes, but even within a game he starts making adjustments. I'm not concerned about him at all.

Suns need to stop trying to turn him into James Harden, he's not ever gonna be that. That's not the type of player that he is. He's a scorer that has the vision to pass when needed but not a primary playmaker.

Some things reinforced by tonight's game:

Ayton has a long way to go defensively, but shows all-timer flashes on the offensive end.

Booker and Warren remain the best players on the roster.

Ariza has clearly mailed it in, and Anderson is useless unless he is hot from three.

Josh Jackson is trending in the wrong direction.

A competent point guard is still sorely needed.

Kokoskov has a long way to go as a head coach. There still seems to be no rhyme or reason on either side of the ball.

All the more reason it was unforgivable for McD not to bring in a starting point guard. As I predicted, this situation is causing Booker's development to stall, if not regress.
