Ah I know ouchie. But my pride wont allow people to spit on me and get away with it without returning it. It wouldnt happen if we were face to face so I cant let it slide online. Now if both sides were mentioned than I wouldnt see a problem.

i understand that. in fact, that shot that card trader took at you on another post today kinda pissed me off. but eventually, for your own sake and the sake of everyone else on the board that wants to read and talk about the cards, you've just gotta let it go. it's not losing face, it's being a bigger man and moving on.

No I wasn't referring to you Mao. I was referring to the people who are upset that the Cards beat the Vikes.

Trader likes to think he is in the majority but he isnt. Just a group that likes to put down or bait people who have other lines of thought on a subject than he has. You know the kind, the guys that get treated like private pile if he had to back it up in real life and not behind a computer screen.

Well considering I've met a majority of the posters from this board in person I'd have to say you are 100% wrong. Anything I say here I will gladly say in person.

See ya at SDS next year! :)

P.S. I am in the majority

Yup I will be there last game of the season and it will be a pleasure.

That could be fun, you know, if we have a high pick on the line....rooting for different teams and all. . . .

Actually that wouldnt be fun at all. That would mean we (the cards and their fans) had an awful season. We dont enjoy top 10 after top ten like some people.

It WOULD be awesome if the game put the cards in the playoffs tho. Id love to storm the field like (I think it was 11 ) did in 98.

I'd rather it be a game where we rested our starters since we had already locked up homefield ;)

Yeah, figure $6 x however many we will have there, gotta figure once we start winning this board will be overflowing with hoppers(wagon hoppers that is). You are looking at around $500-$750 is my best guess. Money well spent though :)

True, I might go with 10 free rounds then just rob you all when you pass out lol

I hope I can get a few more PA guys to join my wife and I. Would be great to get a lot of out of towners at the last game in SDS.

see, skorp, i respect your opinion, and i know you're open-minded about the negativity, but i think jim o's post is just another in a long line (not jim o - but a lot of peeps on this site) that only serve to further encite personal attacks. i know it's said in jest, but if i was called out by a moderator and then someone else piled on, i'd be pissed.

I don't know exactly why I have chosen this post to respond to or quote, but in some small way, I imagine because there was some sense of support in it. If I understand some of the related posts on this thread any animosity or prejudice spewed by contributors was initiated by me. The posted photo and following commentary by others have intimated that there is a homophobic reaction to my existence. But then I did previously address the Garcia homosexuality thread as repugnant. I'm sure that inspired some to attach a label to me and mis "out" me. I'm sure my ex wife and son will be shocked to learn of these new found tendencies of mine. Please don't confuse my sensitivity and sympathy for ostracized individuals with my own personal persuasion or gender preference. Then I have no sympathy for any person who would find others " abnormalities " as a target for hate. Then I have also been accused as a racist because I didn't like the Dennis Green hiring. In my old age, I have suddenly developed a racial bias contrary to my participation in protests during the 60's.
I grew up in South Florida in the 50s and 60s and saw and experienced enough racial hatred to last anyone a lifetime. I have no desire to respond to racists, as evidenced by my non participation in any exchange on just such an issue as promoted by " VikeFan" who repeatedly and without admonition brought out the race card against me with personal atacks. I learned long ago that racial bigots of any side of the issue aren't worth the energy they feed on.

This forum doesn't need me and I don't need it. What I once thought would be an experience in communication in a common area of interest has trivialized into a name calling , mud slinging exercize in futility for all of us. I have been a Cardinal fan for 40 plus years and probably will remain one. My admitted mistake was believing in the free flow of discussion that I enjoy participating in and the thought that Sports is just a game and not all that important in the grand scheme of things. There aren't enough "smilies" available to convey a writers intent for some readers, so in total frustration, I will admit that what I find humorous and light others find serious and insulting. Most disturbing to me is the form of censorship imposed arbitrarily by the administrators, but it is their game and if I don't like the rules I needn't play. ;)

I think we all need to be cautious of the battles we choose. I was recently called the, "Stay Puff Marshmallow Man" for not wanting to post a decision on the recent coaches changes until after the season began and we could see what kind of product they will bring to the field. I could have gotten into a mudslinging fest but felt that bantering with an ignorant person, who appeared to be looking for nothing more than making himself look better than others, was a waste if my time, as is responding to most of the personal attacks that occur on this board, in jest or not. There is a fine line between humor and attack and it depends on the intent of the sender AND the perception of the recipient. Enemies are often made over misinterpretations. I know who I can joke with and who I can't. 11 is always open to being the bud of a joke. He appears to be the ASFN Court Jester, God love him. There are others as well, you just need to know your audience well and if some consistantly instigate negativity, block them.

Call me Dr Phil if you want but just adding my thoughts.

Matt
