He got married over the weekend. I have friends who work at A&M, tutoring the athletes, so they were invited. Here was his groom's cake:

Sheesh!!! Sure seems like a lot of wailing and knashing of teeth over a 6th round pick. I'm glad to see the front office take chances like this. The old regime would never have done it.

Cake!

Ellington has to really screw up to not make the roster. The Cards are really RB thin. That was a value pick, IMO.

Yup, and Kurt Warner was undrafted and Pat Tillman was a 7th.

But the Cowboys spent a pick on Herschel Walker when they knew he was going to the USFL. In the NBA, the Spurs drafted David Robinson when they knew he had a Navy commitment. Cards drafted Tyrann Mathieu with a 3rd when he has a history of drug problems. Eric Swann didn't even play in college.

With an extra 6th, roll the dice. Still have zero problem with it.

Which brings up a question, how long do draft rights last? Is it just one year or more? Could he re-enter if he gets healthy?

If he comes back, it is from retirement. Since he retired a Cardinal, he could play again as a Cardinal if he un-retires.
