Junior guard Ta’Niya Latson is entering the transfer portal but will keep a return to Florida State among her options, according to a report by ESPN on Thursday.
Latson set career highs in points (25.2), rebounds (4.6), assists (4.6) and steals (2.2) in 2024-25. She was a first-team All-ACC selection and was named a second-team All-American.
FSU (24-9) earned a No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament, defeating George Mason in the first round and then losing to regional host LSU 101-71 on Monday. Latson scored 30 points in the loss to the Tigers.
Losing Latson would be a crushing result as FSU also says goodbye to senior forward Makayla Timpson and senior guard O’Mariah Gordon. FSU coaches were looking to build around Latson as well as Texas A&M transfer Sydney Bowles as they construct the 2025-26 roster.
