Why after Favre was sacked by Calais didn't the Cards try & recover the fumble by Favre? Didn't they change the rule after the Den-SD fiasco last season that fumbles can be reviewed even though they may be whistled down? The referee semi-wave the play dead while the sidejudge ran in with no signal expecting it was a fumble. If Wiz would have reviewed the play (which I believe he could) we would have been given possession. I was yelling "get the damn ball" the entire time while CC & DD just celebrated.

Thoughts?

He was ruled down by contact ("in the grasp") before the ball was fumbled.
If one defender has a QB wrapped up and another is closing in they stop the play.

We are probably lucky they didn't call some BS penalty for throwing him down.

Tell my why? The Vickings didn't go to a hurry up offense before they die. I sat there just watching the clock slip away.

They blew the whistle before the ball popped out. Play was over at that point.

The whistle was blown a full second before the ball came out.

I am still a little surprised the Cards weren't penalized for throwing Farve. If it had been Warner that is a touchdown when the Vikes pick up the ball and run it in.

I'm telling you the new rule (this year) is that you can still recover a loose ball after an interverdant whistle, you just cant advance it if the play is reviewed & found to be the wrong call. Remember the 1st Frisco game this year, when Dansby did just that.

Crank out your DVR's guys & watch the 2 refs give 2 differant signals. The side judge is just waiting for someone to pick up the ball.

The Redskins got hosed on a fumble in OT much like the one Farve had. Whistle blown, but overturned.

Just because it CAN be overturned doesn't mean players should jump on every ball after the whistle. There was no way that was a fumble.
