I can't believe it hasn't been posted. Did anyone catch Bickley and MJ today?

They inteviewed T-Sizzle this morning and I was stunned at his candor. He was asked if he has kept up with what the Cardinals are doing on so on.

He basically said of course he has and he is very willing to give Rod Graves a chance to make right now what he made wrong 6 years ago.

He was not bashful about stating that he is all but playing out the string with Baltimore as he has not heard anything about a long term deal. He is aware that they can franchise him again, but doesn't see why they would do that and risk losing other players with expiring contracts.

I don't know about you, but there is no way I let this guy spend on sec on the open market come March 1st. We know we are going to lose either Bertrand or Chike (possibly both) in the offseason as I believe Chike is in the last year of his 5 year deal (?) You can never have enough young quality pass rushers as evidenced by the game Sunday.

He is going to demand big bucks. I would love to have T-Sizzle on this team, but the way we have our LB core set right now, we may not want to invest that kind of money on a linebacker, but rather more help in the secondary.

Would love him. But he would basically be doing the same thing Laboy is doing for 3 times as much money! BTW Laboy is doing VERY WELL!

I understand but I believe we will have Laboy and no one else on the other side come March 1st. (paging Joeschmo for clarification)

If it could be worked out without destroying the core of the current roster (ala 1999) I'd be all for it.

Would LUV to have T-Sizzle...

Make it so, Rod. I think there's ALOT of players around the league looking at what's happening in the desert with a keen interest. GO CARDS!

Call me a homer, but I'd rather have Suggs than Dansby at this point.

ASU Alum here too, but I'm going to agree. Even though I still need to point out that Suggs plays outside, and Dansby plays inside. We could start both.

If Suggs gives the Cardinals a home-town discount, I'd listen. No way we can afford a top dollar deal with Q, A-Dub, and others to extend.

I am starting to buy into the philosophy of lots of middle tier free agents rather then one big FA and scrubs. I have a lot more confidence in the evaluation of rookies and FA's the last few years so if we hit on a couple middle tier guys (like Laboy) its much more conducive to building a champ.

Definitely a guy to pursue we have to remember Laboy has a history of concussions and Okeafor and Berry aren't getting any younger. Bringing in a great pass rusher in his prime makes sense if the dollars work.

The LB core will not be set next year with both Chicke and B-Train probobly both being shown the door. Suggs is younger and a viable replacement for Pace. Whether we can sign Dansby and Suggs both is the question.

The only OLB's under contract next year is Laboy and Okeafer(2009 is his last year).

So in that regard there will be room for Suggs. Not sure if the Cards want to go the big top tier free agent money route or the quantity mid teir free agent route.

There will have to be some tough decisions to make during the 2009 offseason that is for sure. See the 2009 UFA list below (didnt included the RFA's or the EFA's)

Replaceable or Cheap re-signs:
St. Pierre
T. Smith
E. Brown
Beisel
R. Brown
Celestin
Dirk Johnson

Must Re-Signs:
Warner
Dansby

Would like to Re-sign if the price is right:
Arrington
Berry
Haggans

Would like to Re-sign if the price is right but have already been replaced by current 2008 draft class rookies:
A. Smith
Green

Guys who want new deals. In order of whom I think is more important to get done based on years left on their deal and other factors

1. Wilson - the only person with any real grip when talking about getting an extension because he is the only one who has only 1 year left on his deal.
2. Boldin
3. Dockett

Anyone else remember the 98 season FOLLOWED by the 99 offseason...?

Echh... makes me sick thinking about it:barf:

I am going to predict right now that we will see at least one extension maybe two of them during this 2 week hiatus with the bye week and all. Just knowing the history and the way Graves works and that we have some cap space to work with to put on this years cap saving money on next years cap.

If Al Johnson is healthy do you think he will be cut? What kind of cap relief will that net us?

Warner is a must re-sign because of Matt's injury issues in the past, and the reality that San Francisco and Mike Martz will sign him in a New York minute if he's available IMO. That's assuming that Martz survives the Nolan firing.
