Man has Ahmed turned it around at the plate... If he can evolve into a 250 - 260 hitter, 20 HR's and 30 doubles, and a 750 - 800 OPS hitter, he would cement his position on this team!

As someone who said that Ahmed is a Minor Leaguer when facing right handed pitching, I have to say that his recent aggressive hitting vs. RHP is a pleasure to see. And he such a good fielder.

Do ya think that, when he looks at 2B and sees a shortstop ... and now looks at 3B and sees a shortstop ... he realized he needed to get with the program or he'd be squeezed out?

Having a three-SS infield certainly makes it a hell of a defensive group.

And the D-backs totally in control of the the game. 6-0 with 1 out in the bottom of the 6th and Godley looking surprisingly good.

Because of his defense, I have always been willing to stick with Ahmed and accept his light-hitting production. Of course, that has limits and this year, Nick was teetering on the brink of acceptability... But again, because he is in the top 4 or 5 defensive SS's in the game, he doesn't have to be all-world at the plate.
And, I think he turned it around at the plate well before Escobar joined the team...

You just can’t be sellers when you are only 3 games from best record in the league
This is so true. At least the front office wants to win. I respect that. But now we will most likely not go anywhere in the playoffs (if we get there) and lose Corbin and AJ, the prospects we gave away and the potential great prospects we could have received for AJ and Corbin. But I like that the front office is trying to win today.

All the guys that were stinking it up earlier in the season, Avila, Sousa, are finally coming around. Love seeing that.

I do as well...however, if the front office decided to sell and unload AJ and Patrick, and netted top-tier young talent, I would've understood.

The D-backs have hopscotched into 1st place with their win today and the Dodgers are now in 3rd with their loss. The Rockies are in between.

I just can’t comprehend your line of thinking there The D backs are in first place in their division only two games away from having the best record in the National League If they traded Corbin and Pollick Hazan would’ve been considered the worst general manager in D backs history and everybody would’ve laughed at us

Yup, we have to go for the best we can this year. The Front Office also saw, as we did, that the D-backs putrid hitting of the first half was caused largely because of the injuries to our three sluggers. With all back except for Lamb (who disappears the second half of each season anyway) and some key trades, we are a different team.

We'll just have to make up for the loss of Corbin and Pollack next season.

Godley Is the first picture in the major leagues since at least 1974 to strike out the first batter in each of his first seven innings

For the record... Hey Robby Ray - THAT is what pitches that are "working" look like! ;)
He’s now the worst pitcher in our rotation. People thought he was our ace coming into the season

Totally disagree... I think it's absurd to think that this team can win a World Series. Seriously, beyond Grienke (who proved last year he is not a sure thing in the post season), and Corbin (who is still making his way) - what other starter could possibly be trusted in the playoffs?? And against teams like the Sox, Yankees, Indians or Stros, I think we would be laughed out of the Series.
And of course, I'm still not sold that we'll hold on and make the post season at all... and if we do, would it surprise you if we simply matched last years' performance?
Like I said, I love the fact that our leadership wants to win. And truthfully, if it were me, I would no doubt do the same thing and go for it. But taking a broader perspective, to lose both AJ and Corbin and get nothing in return, only to "maybe" make a post season run where we stand a good chance of doing nothing more than what we did last season... That hurts and will likely continue to drive this team into "hard to watch" baseball for several years to come.
