Last year hurt because we burnt our 1 and 2 against the Rockies in the one game playoff and could never recover from the 1st 3 Dodger starters. The front office is doing what they can do to win now, and I am OK with that.

When you’re not the Dodgers, Yankees, or Red Sox you just can’t burn a potential playoff season. You’ve got to push your chips in and take a shot because as we’ve seen, when you don’t have a colangelo mortgaging the future you’re just unlikely to be a perennial contender.

And man is Escobar smooth. Hope we can find a way to keep him.
Might have to depending on if and when Lamb has surgery on frayed rotator cuff. Torey said they could take conservative approach and have him come back this season and hold off on surgery until offseason so may need Escobar if he isn’t ready opening day. How long do frayed rotator cuff surgeries take to fully recover?

Never even heard of that type of injury. Why not just put him off for the season, get the surgery now so he is ready next year as Escobar is a great replacement.

I agree. All I'm saying is that I could've have also understood and accepted a situation where the front office/ownership became sellers and unloaded Pollack and Corbin.
I love that we're battling! I love that on August 1st, we are actually in First Place! However, I also know what next year and the following 3-4-5 years will look like...

Honestly... does it really matter? What about Lamb gets you excited?? At best, he's a sub-250 hitter who might get you 20-25 HR's and 75 RBI. Along with a ton of K's and a crappy on-base percentage...

And not particularly a clutch hitter. And a sub-par fielder. My opinion is that I've never seen a look of determination on his face. It seems to send a message of, "Oh, well."

Nothing gets me excited about Lamb but ARZ does not have the money for a FA upgrade or the prospects to acquire one in trade. If they can keep Escobar then I would trade Lamb.
