Credit needs to be given where credit is due. LB has stepped up his game. His decision making has improved tremendously over the past few games and he's also been playing some very solid defence. Keep it up LB, you're doing a great job.

I agree. I had never seen him throw an alley-oop before tonight.

If he continues to improve and can consistently contribute, we might not need a vet PG to relieve Nash...

It all comes down to willingness. We all thought Bell was a right fit to the new philosophy and system under Kerr & Porter, while Barbosa is completely the opposite. But the truth is Bell just doesn't want to play for this team any more, it is above all and unchangable.

I have to apologize for my suggestion of trading LB in off season. I can see he is doing everything right now, listen to the coach, cooperate with teammates, work on his skillsets, and even fight off the loss of his mom. Salute to LB!

Actually, most of us wanted him gone, because after so many years in the league we don't believe he could get rid of his bad habits DA brothers couldn't eliminate. Is that coach Porter who could actually teach something to the young players, unlike Mike who'd pepp up their stats only? LB was still his unbearable self the first several games back from Brazil. Yet, from mistakes he starts to learn the proper way of playing with some guidance. Keep up the great work, Leandro and Terry!:D

me too, im liking barbs right now. i've been a doubter about him some times.

maybe barnes helped him cope with it, as he was in a similur situation?
maybe barnes and shaq have helped him toughen up?
maybe its porter too?

i dont know...lets hope barbs can improve even more. good upside for him so far.

loving barbosa's game since he's got it going. the biggest thing is that if he keeps playing like this, he can actually be effective against some heavyweights in the playoffs.

J. Rich- thanks for breathing some new life into us. Debut was nothing short of spectacular.

Indeed. On top of that, you could tell he was nervous at first. Took him about 6 min to get in the rhythm of the offense. After that, it was like he's been here since the beginning. He's only gonna get better.

Can you tell I'm as giddy as a kid in a candy store?? :D

Im still in favor of Barbs for Rudy

The way he has improved over just a couple of bad games, you might have Blazers listen to your proposal.;) Roy and LB would be some nice backcourt too, if LB further improves his defense and decision making.

Im not in favor of trading barbs, but we would have to get a PF back in return.

I always thought LB played better as a starter even knowing he won 6th man of the year. Of course Richardson will be starting now.

He was not good at the end of last year, but I don't think you can blame him for this year. He missed so much of training camp, and of the season due to his mother's death. It has to be rough on him. Glad he is playing like the Barbs we know again!

Yeah LB was learning from porter in training camp -from brazil-, LOL! Sometimes you guys really reach to fit what you want to believe. With the language barrier, I doubt Porter has taught LB much at all in the few weeks he has been back.

Explain to me then how come LB didn't improve much on defense and bone-head plays under teh DA brothers' pampering TEACHING? And I didn't mean Porter 'teaching' in the narrow sense but more his 'coaching' with teaching as part of it. Maybe Porter just had a credible threat to sit him when he kept doing the stupid things, while DA couldn't because LB's wild play was part of the gambles he was willing to take. Whatever it is, Porter's seems to work WAY better than DA's, which is why we all kinda surprised at.

Again tell me your explanation of his improvement few thought possible on the board! Maybe staying away from the pampering treatment of DAs' did the wonder?:D

Yeah, and on the flipside i'm sure the coaching staff has completely ignored LB since returning and decided to just let him "do whatever he wants" out there. LOL
Also, have ya heard?.....Barbosa's English has come along way since the ole days fella. He's trusted by local tv networks to live interview's.....the language barrier isn't much of an issue anymore....

Well that settles it, porter must have obe 1 kenobed LB. LB could never learn anything for himself could he? After all someone just had to tell him driving into a crowd and turning the ball over was bad. If only DA would have told him turning the ball over was bad.

When a boxer lets his guard down and gets hit, he learns to keep his guard up. Perhaps LB has learned how other defenses play him and has adapted. What else could it be?

If your theory above were true and LB had the ability to learn and adapt, wouldn't it have happened years ago? While I don't believe Terry Porter and staff have completely turned LB into 'all that and a bag of chips', I do however believe that if there has been a measured level of improvement - it cannot be acredited to LB's own recognition and adaptation to defenses. D'Antoni's departure has helped it along... think of it as addition by subtraction.
