Hello everyone. I have been reading the message board for years but rarely post, however I would like to thank the Cardinals. I live in Delaware(am a huge Cards fan) and a co-worker of my wife has a two year old daughter with neuroblastoma which is a juvenile cancer. We are having a fundraiser for her to help with medical bills. My wife was in Arizona last week for her job and I suggested she contact the Cardinals to see if maybe they would donate something for the silent auction. The Cards told her they typically only do local charity but fax them the paparwork and they would see if they could do anything. Upon arriving in Arizona she got a phone call from the organization to say they had something for her. She went to the Cards facility and was presented with a football signed by Anquan Boldin and a certificate of authenticity. This act of generosity brought a tear to my eyes. Her co-workers also contacted the Eagles who have a huge following in Delaware and they were told the Eagles couldn't do anything for them because they were afraid any item they donated to the cause may end up on e-bay. So in closing I just want to say thanks to the Cardinals Organization for their truly selfless act of kindness to support a good cause. I am so excited for this season I can hardly contain myself.

That is great to hear how the Cards are more concerned with helping out than being taken advantage of

Best of luck and health to the child - is her condition terminal or can she recover?

Great story DECARDFAN. You should print some of the particulars of the silent auction. Maybe some of the local fans would want to bid on the football.

Say what you want to about our Cardinals, no one has ever been able to say they aren't generous to a fault when it comes to charitable work.

I would like a shot at THAT football...going for a good cause...I would hit my piggy-bank.

I can promise it won't hit E-bay if I buy it.

Great story

Hope the auction is successful. In your neck of the woods, some Eagles stuff might have been more beneficial. I'll bet Donavan McNabb would have been helpful if contacted directly.

I will keep your child in my thoughts. The childs health is the story. As for the Cardinals they do so much in the community it's unbielevable. I know this for a fact. Best of luck to you and your family.Don't worry if it ends up on EBay as long as you get lots of money to help your family.

Her prognosis is uncertain at this time. She has been undergoing treatment for about 6 months now. As for the auction it is going to be live at a beef and beer otherwise I would give instructions on how to bid for those on the message board I know everyone here would love to own it and doubt anyone on the board would put it on e-bay.

I do know of two Cardinal fans who will be bidding against each other, that would be me and my brother. I also guarantee it will never hit e-bay if either of us win it.

And although I know the Cardinals are generous in the local area, I just thought it was really special that they would help a child thousands of miles away. By the way here is a link to her caring bridge website.

God Bless DECARD...

...and best wishes to your daughter and your family. The most important thing is getting the support for your daughter...good luck on the bidding war with your brother!

The Bidwill's do more for charity (especially for kids) than most people will ever know.

Dick move for the Eagles, I am sure a ball that they probably get for free, autographed by one player would be a bfd. In many ways I want the Cards to emulate the Eagles organization, but this is certainly not one of them.

Exactly. These things don't end up on the news. The Cardinals have been more than generous in the community. It is a great organization. But stories like this don't fit into the Xtra 910 heap of fluff and garbage.

You are so right...!!! When it comes for charity giving they are some of the best providers in the country. I wish all of the B. haters would realize this. There is more to life than just football.

Worth while cause

If asked there are plenty of other Cardinals who would be more than willing to provide an autographed item or two. I'm sure the The Eagles have similar compassionate players. Seems rather petty of the Eagle organizaton.

Great story, thanks for posting this. I hope the little girl recovers fully.

The Quan rocks. We will thump the Eagles on Christmas Eve at the Cards last regular season home game at SDS!

Guys, Thank you for all the kind words it is greatly appreciated, but I think you misread the message it is not my daughter. It is the daughter of my wife's co-worker and my wife and I are helping to organize the fund-raiser for them. I am very thankful that my family is healthy and could not imagine what it is like to go through something like that. But again the thoughts, prayers and kind words are greatly appreciated.

The Cardinals have always been very active in charity work, but unlike some do not use it for publicity. Certain owners might consider this a 'lack of media savvy'; I call it 'class'.

By the way, what part of Delaware? Nidan and I spent years there - I use to work for Hercules.
