Lakers just put in a great effort at Minnesota, couldn't tell they were on teh back end of a road back to back. They were down ten going in to the fourth, and won 111-94. Great play by Kobe...24 points on 10-16 shooting, 4 rebounds and 6 assists.

Vlad had a really good game, and Bynum played very well. GOOD WIN.

Gonna need to get some more of those type of character building wins while Lamar is on the shelf.

that game was the shining example of why KG will never be considered a superstar in my eyes. The guy is the greatest second banana masquerading as a first banana of all time. If anyone needed AI, it was him. He's going to end his career with really nothing to show for it... division titles, playoff success, conference titles, NBA Finals Appearances... nothin' zip, zero (svae one division title and one year of getting out of the first round out of 12 seasons).

impressive run by the Laker reserves tonight... but is it just me or does Mo Williams NOT work on his game... he's got decent ball handling skills, an okay jumper and unbelievable hops and yet is really nothing in the grand scheme of things. This kid should be a MUCH BETTER player.

I joked to D-Dogg last night that I was scared of this game because KG would be playing ticked off since AI got traded to Denver. He needs a dominating player along side him and if I were him, I'd beat McHale and the owner within an inch of their lives for ruining my career.

Nope, not just you. He is VERY inconsistent, and not just in his shooting or offense, but defense too. Some nights he will be a beast on D, then he won't PLAY D another night.

I haven't figured the guy out yet. I like him, and think he is a plus (especially since we got him for a 2nd round pick) but I definitely think we aren't getting all we should from him.

Oh, and Minnesota with AI and KG would have been a strong team...I am so glad that didn't happen. They would have complemented each other's weaknesses very well. AI isn't afraid to have the ball in his hands for big moments, and KG is. Together, they would have made another really tough team in the west.

I don't think Melo and AI gel the way KG and AI would have.

It was actually the bench that played great. Kobe spent the first 8 1/2 minutes of the fourth quarter on the bench. Radmanovic and Evans combined for 16 points during a 25-2 run to start the fourth quarter.

Do you have NBA League Pass this year?

Yes, the bench played great and sparked the comeback.

I was more commenting on Kobe's efficient game after a sloppy, poor game vs. Chicago the night before. Wasn't implying that he made the comeback happen. The bench did (that's what I meant by calling it a character-building game). I wasn't very clear, huh? :)

Gotcha. He did play better.

The difference in this game was definitely the play of the team after Phil sent Kobe to the bench.

Good win tonight...Farmar played his butt off. He's so fast, and had a nice breakaway dunk too. Kobe with 11 assists. More great bench play.

However, in the last two minutes the Lakers had a ten point lead, and while they milked clock, they jacked up threes and NJ came back where they could have tied the game with a made three at the end...they missed, they fouled Kobe and we won by 4. NEVER should have been like that. Piss poor execution in the final two minutes. 2-1 on this road trip....damn I hope we wax Miami on Christmas.

Wow, that was one of the worst games the Lakers have played all season long. It was ugly..I was SHOCKED we were in it at all. We shot 39%, and I don't know how...we missed SO many shots. Kobe was off. Everything about the team was off.

To play that bad and have a shot, ok. But boy, did they look terrible. I can't be upset though, I thought this game was over in the first and it held my attention for the whole game until 2 minutes left.

2-2 on the road trip....I was hoping to come out of it 4-2, but I had the Miami game penciled as a win and the Magic a loss....hope we get Orlando now.

Well, now we are 3-2 on the road trip...beat Orlando with a very strong second half and an 18 point 3Q from Smush.

Bobcats up next, so we are in good position to get 4-2 on this roadie...not bad. Can't look past the Bobcats though, they will be up for this game.

106-93 Lakers beat the Magic. Kwame and Bynum combined for a really good game, and Kwame especially gave Dwight Howard fits.

Great stuff. I saw Smush had some points, but didnt realize they were almost all 3Q.

Everytime Lakers fans ride off Smush, he has a huge game. I want this kid to get P-A-I-D considering he's never had a decent NBA contract.

Well that sucked. Had a 14 point lead, then let the bobcats score 42 points in the 2nd. Had a 5 pt lead with a minute left...they tie for OT. Kobe saves the day and we go to second OT. Kobe chokes a FT and we end up going to 3OT. We get thumped in third OT.

Kobe gets 58 on 22-45 shooting. Ice that arm, Kobe. Vlad is a no-show, going 0-6. We shot 100 shots and they shot 112 shots. That's a lot of shooting!

Kwame 4-10 shooting and some really bad turnovers in crunch time. Smush and Luke each shoot 5-10...shooting wasn't bad, but Defense and rebounding sure was....Okafor with 22 and 25 boards, and Felton with 22 and 15 dimes.

Way to disappoint, Lakers. We left this game on the court about six times.

Another one of those where Kobe has a huge game (point-wise) and the team loses. I'm not surprised. :|

Gotta be careful with the bobcats, they are lottery so teams don't take them too seriously and then bam they come out of nowhere, and when they do all of a sudden they score like a title team.

They were down against the spurs the first time (I think even 22 points) and then completley turned it around too. Gotta keep the clamps on the cats.

Hopefully the suns don't let this happen to them too.

BIM, you can't put that game on Kobe, other than his defense. He didn't take people out of the offense, and everyone had a good offensive game except for Vlad and Kwame. We got beat by defense being terrible (points in the paint was HUGE in the cats favor) and bad rebounding. The bench unit, which has really shined on this road trip, came out completely flat, giving up a 14 point lead and allowing the cats to put up 42 points in the second quarter.

You can blame Kobe for his stupid foul on the three pointer late. You can blame him for getting abused by Wallace. You can blame his D which wasn't there so much. But offensively, the Lakers played well, even with him volume shooting (at a 50% clip).

By the way, the Lakers are 10-4 now when Kobe scores 50+. You should be suprised.

You can choose to blame Kobe because you don't like his style of play, or you can be very worried at the piss-poor defense and rebounding we displayed out there. I worry about the latter. This team can hang with anyone offensively, however we have been in a lot of close games this year because we can't clamp down defensively, especially in crunch time, and we haven't learned to put the foot on the neck when we have a lead (we've lost some HUGE leads this season). That concerns me to no end.
