The Valley so low.
Well, I have to disagree. If Lakers sucked, their lakes would disappear, and besides, they're not in good enough shape to suck. They just blow. Their fans, on the other hand, blow hard.

Andrew Bynum has been named the starting C by Phil. Should be interesting to see what his intensive training and work with Kareem has produced.

Hopefully a sky hook and goggles. An appearance in Airplane 2 wouldn't hurt either.

Only named starter because Kwame is out 3-4 weeks.

Alright fellas....fill me in on what I need to know. I'm going to do my best to watch this game after Trick or Treating.

Hopefully I don't get bored and erase it off the DVR and start watching Nightmare on ElmStreet 3.

Here is what you need to know (D-Dogg may have stuff to add too);

Phil Jackson had a hip replacement in the offseason and has recently started walking without his cane. He says he is feeling great, which is in stark contrast to his condition the past few years. There were times when he couldnt get up off the bench because of the pain.

Players of note;

Kobe had off-season surgery and didnt play at all in the preseason. Personally, I dont expect KB to be KB of old for some time. He also changed his number to 24 this season.

Vlade Radmonovic has an injured hand, so he isnt 100% either. Chris Mihm is also banged up.

As the only rookie on the team, Jordan Farmar is progressing at PG and I expect him to be a key to the Lakers' success this season. Kid grew up in LA and attended UCLA. Now he plays for the Lakers.

The injured Aaron McKie was kept as the 15th body on the roster because he has an attractive expiring contract, should the Lakers decide to make a move later in the season.

Maurice Evans was acquired from DET during the offseason and has suprised many with his play in the preseason. He should be able to spell Kobe and play some great defense.

Lamar Odom lost his infant son in the offseason, but will be looked upon to carry this Lakers team, especially if KB isnt 100%.

Andrew Bynum will start the season at center with Mihm injured. #17 has a looooong way to go to follow in the footsteps of great Lakers centers Mikan, Wilt, Kareem and Shaq.

The Lakers have a favorable early schedule, playing of 18 game of their first 24 at the Stapler (17 home, 1 Clippers). Most "experts" have the Lakers competing for the 8th spot in the West this season.

A-Bomb's Prediction
46-36 and the 7th seed
Kobe: 30.5 PPG, 4.9 APG, 5.5 RPG
All-Star: Kobe Bryant

Kobe takes 10%-15% fewer shots than last season (27.2 attempts per game in 2005), Brown and Bynum improve significantly. Farmar is the starting PG by season's end. Lamar Odom averages nearly a double-double per game (points and rebounds).

Well, the first thing to remember is that you have to BOUNCE the ball as you run with it. Then you have to throw it into a round circle of metal--that counts as 2 points, but if you're behind a certain line, it counts as 3.

I'm sure you'll pick up the rest as you go...

That's a pretty good prediction I think. The Lakers will have some trouble with some teams, but will get their share of wins. How do you think the west finishes seeding wise if the Lakers are 7th?

Boy, I am really unprepared to predict the rest of the west. I can say without an ounce of hateration that I dont believe the Suns will win the title. The fact that they are the favorite and everyone and their mother believes it is a forgone conclusion worries me. I think the NOOCH and the Rockets will both be improved.

That logo reminds me of British Knights. Why does he have his own logo again? Not exactly the Air Jordan logo is it? :)
