Oh come on, you are not going to compare Bill Walton, a lovable old stoner hippy, to the mountain of douchebaggery and asshattery that's Lavar Ball! That is ridiculous. Lavar, as well as his oldest son, are human pieces of garbage.

Everything we know about the Ball family is seen through the lens of the media, who delight in fomenting trouble and discord. Hell, I give Lavar props trying to get into shoe action with his own company instead of having his sons make millions for some huge corporations. That's the
American way! He may be doing a lousy job of marketing them but the marketplace with let hm know quickly.
Anyway, calling someone human garbage is way out of line considering that you have no first or even secondhand knowledge of them. IMO they are a notch above the media types who are fueling the flames for their own ends. Two notches because they are masquerading as journalists.

For sure. And I'm on your side about it being hard to cast Lonzo as scum. It's easy to tell someone else to castoff a person that is causing them mysery... but it's difficult when you're the subject of the conversation and the headache is your parent... and you're still basically a kid.

Just for clarity, I never said Lonzo was scum. I said he was being a bitch and he's got to step up to Daddy because that stuff is going to wear thin on coaches and teammates if he just keeps passively ignoring or agreeing with him.

Do you read entire posts or just immediately start thinking of your reply?

In case you didn't notice, I was replying to what someone else said about moving the discussion. I even commented on how the Lonzo talk has buried all of the other NBA news that's been posted here, because it has.

I wasn't the one who suggested moving it, I linked to 2 threads where it would make more sense to have discussions about Lonzo and the Lakers though. There are threads for each one of them, so why not move the discussions there? Isn't it more fitting to have discussions about those things in threads made for them?

you seem to be having trouble reading today including reading your own posts. I very clearly said players, plural, because if you talked to players on EVERY team in the NBA right now, including the best ones like the Warriors, Celtics, Cavs, Rockets, you'd be able to find at least one guy on each team who's upset about something or thinks there's distractions on the team.

If Lonzo was an owner I'd agree his comment was wrong, but he's not an owner he's a 20 year old rookie player who went asked said I will play for anyone.

I wish he'd said something stronger but I don't think that makes him a cancer to not say it and I don't think there's any evidence it's distracting the team. if it is, they need more distractions they've played significantly better since Lavar made those comments.

AS for Lonzo stopping it I'd submit you haven't followed this circus long enough if you think that's possible. This is who Lavar Ball is, he's been doing this for years now, it's just now ESPN has discovered how easy it is to get attention by putting a mic in front of Lavar and letting him talk. Basically since the shoplifting incident in China, they've had a reporter following Lavar around. So you have the FB reality show people following him, and Jeff Goodman now is the 3rd different reporter ESPN has assigned to Lavar duty. I don't think he's going to stop because Lonzo asks him to.

It wouldn’t surprise me to learn it’s strategic - that it’s to let Paul get comfortable running the team by himself.

I’m actually surprised more teams don’t do this considering just how long an 82 game season is.

With all due respect you keep misquoting me in posts and you even misquoted yourself. I can only react to what you write, not what you actually mean, so if you don't write what you mean, it's your issue not mine. THe only reason I ever responded is you said if Lonzo doesn't call out his dad or tell him to shut up, he's a cancer, whichI think is absurd. Then you denied calling him a cancer even though he's done neither of those things so by your definition he's a cancer.

Then I responded and said if players(plural) on the Lakers have a problem with this my opinion would change, so you find an ESPN article(the very people causing the issue) citing one UNNAMED player and say here you go Russ. Again 1 player is not players, there are unhappy players everywhere. When your team has lost 9 straight games and the guy who's the alleged problem missed 6 of those 9 games with an injury it's hard for me to blame him for being a distraction to the team, especially since the comments happened AFTER the 9 game streak.

Lavar has a big mouth, he's been doing this since his kids started HS. Lonzo can ask him to stop, he may have already done so in private, but it's not going to stop him. The guy has already, twice, promised Magic and Pelinka he'll stop doing this, and then done it again. He's not going to stop that's why the Lakers have the don't give him oxygen policy, and it's why ESPN is being blasted for continuing to give him a mic to talk into. They are literally paying Jeff Goodman to follow him around in Lithuania hoping he says something controversial again. The guy has already been on WWE. This one only really blew up because Plaschke wrote an article saying they should trade Lonzo, and again a few days ago Plaschke was on an ESPN show live and said Luke Walton should be on the hotseat in LA he's not winning enough games.

I have no problem with people hating on Lavar he's not a good guy but people keep takng that and extending it to Lonzo. I

how do you know he hasn't already asked his dad in private to knock it off? You have no idea.If ESPN would stop interviewing the dad the problem would go away instantly, that's the point the coaches are making, stop talking to the guy he's a circus clown.

I saw a clip of all the points he scored in the 3rd quarter, just one jumper after another didn't matter who guarded him he even scored over Durant a couple of times.

The amazing thing to me is that 27 in a quarter isn't even close to an NBA record because Klay put up 37 in a quarter a few years ago, it's just uncanny how good NBA players can be when they get it going.

FWIW I've tried 5 times now and if you search for lonzo ball under thread titles in this board, you are told there are no threads matching that title. I didn't start the latest Lonzo stuff here I just responded to it, but it may well be that the reason Lonzo stuff gets started here is that the search engine doesn't find the Lonzo thread?

I should add if there's a mod reading, has the Lonzo Ball thread been deleted? If I click on the link poophead mentioned, I get the thread, but I can't post in it and the reason is when I click on that thread, it shows me as not logged in. In fact it took me 5 minutes and an emailed change password to get back in, and then it did it again when I clicked on that thread.

So it's either deleted or soemthing is wrong with that thread that logs you out.
