Me either. Damaged goods I think. He is gimpy, on a short deal, and a little weak mentally off the court. I've always thought that look in his eye reminded me of someone. He is a tremendously effective player, yet looks like a deer in the headlights. Then I remembered. He reminds me of Richard Dumas. Not the drugs issue. Just the personality.

DPOY/Finals MVP doesn’t strike me as soft. The Spurs misdiagnosed his ankle injury last year and he doesn’t trust them. Not saying there isn’t some diva in him though.

How is CP3 anything like LeBron or Kawai? He's not according to the metric you just used.

Those three guys are all nasty defenders, LeBron can play the 4 (which he often does), Kawai the 3 and Paul the 1. Every one of them can create and shoot and D up like mothers.

Thinking those three guys can't play together makes zero sense to me.

Yeah, CP3/LeBron/Kawhi. they could probably make that happen by trading EVERYONE on their team for Kawhi and then having two open MAX deal slots.

And I think that team would beat the Warriors... possibly to a pulp. All 3 of those guys are Warrior kryptonite.

They'd have EPIC matchups at least for the next couple years.

His PLAY is not soft. He off the court personality is. He is like Antonio McDyess, Joe Johnson, or Richard Dumas. His posse runs him.

Yup, and 2 of them are the most cerebral players in the league. It's too bad they couldn't unite in SA. Pop at the head of that snake would seriously threaten the Warriors dynasty.

Indeed it was! For the youngsters here I'll mention that Gene Conley was an NBA player- he had the distinction of being replaced at C when Bill Russell joined the Celtics. I was into baseball then, being a substitute bat boy for the visiting team for my team in the WIL. I was subbing the day Conley visited - it was a big deal because he was my hometown high school sports hero. Shortly after that he was called up to pitch for the Boston Braves and got a sideline job playing C for the Celtics that fall. Must have been about 1952-3.

Would anyone consider taking on Deng's contract to add Ball? For all the crap that Ball brings with him, he would be great for Ayton as well as a nice compliment to Booker.

It would effectively allow LA to build a another superteam, but I believe it would be short lived with most of the guys nearing the end of their prime like LeBron and CP3.

It would also kill any free agency hopes we had for the next 2 years, but...

Not trolling. I just have too much draft and free agency on the brain. I understand the Ball sentiment, but if you divorce him from the circus he has a pretty unique skill set that would really help our young players. If he manages to fix his shot, he'll be a solid player.

Not saying I would do it, but Bright Side or Valley of the Suns posted the trade on twitter, so I gave it some thought.

I think your point is fair enough but the Suns would have to throw some draft picks in there as well. I'm not sure it is worth the headache.

2 years left on Deng at 18mil per. Better than the Parson's contract.

Ball's salary is not bad since he is on a rookie contract. I'd take him for the cost of two expiring contracts and see how it works out. However, if the Suns have to throw in picks, I like it less.
