Me and the dude next to me at work both have season tickets to the Cards and talk about them all the time. Other people around us have died laughing at us. We are surrounded by a bunch of Broncos fans and some Steelers fans.

The other day this guy that sits over the wall and has never said anything openly about being a Cards fan, comes over and interrupts us and says: "You mean WE have a chance at the playoffs?"

I thought "Where were you when everyone around here was laughing at us?"

Anyone else notice this?

If we beat Seattle it will be a revival.

yeah, it's pathetic. And you know everyone will stand at the end claiming their undying love for the cards, how they sat through thick and thin.... We should make a limited edition T-shirt to signify the true fans from the bandwagoners, so we can thumb each other out.

Oh we will know, speedy.

One dude at breakfast yesterday bet me that Randall Cunningham played for the Cards in the '90's.

I'm all. "What, no he didn't."

"Yes he did dude."

"Nope."

Haha free lunch.
Once I proved, I was like, "Who do you think you are talking too about this?"

Hes like: "I know. I should have known."

Amen!

"Bandwagon", "Fair Weather", "Front Runner" or any other fan who will go to the games, watch the Cards on TV (maybe even a few HOME games if this gets going:)) are more than welcome to me!

It's been a long, long time (since the Coryell days) since this team was really a winning team (not counting the fluke year of '98). If Denny gets this team on course, this town will go nuts over the Cards. Football is absolutely the king of sports!

Welcome aboard you noobs!

The list starts and ends with ASFN as far as I'm concerned! Every one else gets the gasface, but a pat on the back for coming around late. Just don't try to crash our "circle". WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!

Hey, I may be new to this board but I'm a long time, die hard Cardinals fan!!! I'm an Arizona native and root for all of our sports teams. If we can convert a few thousand (or more) by winning, so be it. But trust me, I remember all the people who gave me crap and I know one day I'll be laughing in their faces! Especially the people who gave me a bad time just because they were on the bandwagon of last year's superbowl winner. :p

Laughed at with my new plate: NUCRDFN

Same thing at work though. They are all closet fans waiting for the winning streak. Hopefully they all come out JAN 2 to show support for this team regardless of the games ramifications.

Yes, for one season 1998-1999. But what does that prove? I could only afford them for one season and bought 2 seats, one for me and one for my son. It was a blast but an unfortunate turn of economic situation led to my not being able to again.

I was a Cardinal fan when they were in St. Louis but didn't live there so I couldn't be a season ticket holder. So, was I not a "true" fan?

Sometimes the criteria people put on who is a "true" fan puzzles me.

That's the irony of it all: You want a full stadium to cheer on the Cards, but once it happens, you resent all the newcommers for jumping on the bandwagon. Or at least that is how I feel.

I went through this in Chicago in the mid '80's. Little old ladies that knew nothing about football were wearing Bears' sweatshirts, hats, pins, etc. They couldn't tell you the first thing about football, but because the Bears were winning, everyone was all of the sudden a fan.

I am a Cardinals season ticket holder and a die hard fan (although sometimes I am embarassed to admit it).

However, there will come a day, not too long from now, when the Cardinals will own this town, and the team will take us all to the promise land known as the Super Bowl. I'm hoping for '06 when they open up the new stadium. As long as they play like they have the past 6 quarters, we have hope!!

Go CARDS!! Beat the Seahags this Sunday!!

I wasn't suggesting that non-ticket holders were not true fans. Everyone has their own economic situation.

But, I do find it amusing that more people can seem to find the money for tickets when the Cards have some success. But that is just the nature of this town. Everyone is your fan when you're a winner.

New fans are welcome. Some will become hooked. Anything that expands the ticket base is good.

And welcome to all the new ASFN members.

My Buddy from Stl came out for his first game in the sweat box....I asked him if he could imagine this stadium at 105 degrees....the look on his face was priceless...I thought he was going to pass out. I asked him because he switched teams to the Rams when they came to STL, after being a diehard Cards fan for 30+ years. I said the true diehards are willing to sit in this roasting hell and watch a team that they bleed with. I for some reason believe that the Super Bowl when we win it will be most sweet for us folks that have stayed in the trenches. Not that the diehards from other places aren't going to savor the success but the ones that have been on the grill in Sun Devil have to be looked at as the True fans. Alot of us came with the team from Stl and some hooked on when the team came here. THey are the true diehards in my opinion. That does not mean that the bandwagon fans aren't welcome. The 12th man needs them as well.

I just watched the reverse of the curse of the Bambino about the Red Sox winning the World Series and it got me thinking about how I would feel if the Cards took the Superbowl one day and wow what complete utter happiness we would all feel. Let the band wagoners come and become the 12th man. We can educate them about the Cards, teach them about what it was like representing the Cards back in the bad days. Everyone knows in there heart if they are pumping red or Cardinal red in their veins. We know who we are and when that day comes will celebrate hard and even harder for the ones who are not here anymore who were waiting to see it. That will be the day

OK. Cool :)

I try to scrape some money together and get to a game or 2 a season, sometimes I make it and sometimes I don't. This year I got to the Giants game and had a blast!

I'm thinking (hoping really) to get season tickets next year. Things are improving a bit these days.

This town is a a front runner supporter that's for sure, but I think more towns are than aren't in pro sports.
