Edge is still the better back and the reason can be summed up in one word. Vision.

It's the same reason why Emmitt back then was still the best back on our roster even though he was 53.

The breadtruck isn't bad, is a nice change of pace, and I'm not complaining.

But we still need a RBOF.

i know people are gonna kill me for saying this, but if AP was on this team, it would be the best offense in the league bar none (and probably one of the best all time).

I think we'll rue that pick forever unless the O-line really becomes monsters and Hightower develops into a serious stud. I like what I see of Hightower so far and maybe he could develop into that guy, but the run blocking still leaves a hell of a lot to be desired.

Whoa dude give him some time...2nd NFL game and he looks way better than JJ ever looked. I like him, I think he's gonna learn from Edge and only improve. He'll have that vision don't worry...

Not after we draft a RB in one of the first two rounds next year and leave Hightower where he belongs on an NFL depth chart; 2nd string.

It seemed that the Dolphins were geared up to stop the run. They sure played a lot of man coverage. It was rare for either Edge or TH to make it past the LOS without getting hit. But, teams now know that if they try to play us like, they'll get torched by our passing game.

We have both RB's so the offense doesn't have to change their personality. Give it time fellas, it's early yet on Hightower.

Hightower runs with more power and intensity than I've seen from any Cardinals' RB in a long time. He's no Edge, granted, but he made his second TD run in two games.

And when exactly did Edge make his second TD run for the team? (I mean this sincerely. I don't know. When did it happen?)

I just don't get how anybody can complain or nitpick anything right now. We appear to have a beautiful blend of players who are being subbed in and out and we aren't missing a beat.

I wonder what that CB thinks of Hightower? You know. The one that had his shoulder crushed when Hightower hit him?

The 3rd and 7 play deep in our own territory that Hightower ran for a first down on put a smile on my face.

I love this kid......

is edges great vision the reason he slams into the back of his lineman over and over?

No that would be because of the complete lack of push at the LOS by the O-line. Sitting in the endzone behind the offense I can tell you that holes/running lanes were very few and far between yesterday. Thankfully it didn't matter much when Warner Q and Fitz were punking the Dolphins secondary at will.

Beanie Wells and Knowshon Moreno may be available next year. Wells is still the best RB coming out.Plus he's smart. He didn't have to play in that shellacking Saturday night.

Knowshon?

Nope never met him.

I don't follow college football as closely as some, but I have seen this kid play and he's an absolute stud (and I doubt we'll be picking high enough to get him).

As for taking Levi Brown with the 5th pick over Adrian Peterson, I'm still not over that one (I don't think I ever will be) but I do like Hightower.

I was baffled by the Phins gameplan. Did they really think that they're corners or even linebackers would be able to contain Fitz and Q? I'm no defensive coordinator but it seems like a team would try to contain Warner and Co and make Edge & TH beat them. At least if you fail at that game plan, it's a slow death instead of being down 14 points 8 minutes into the game.

Winning consistently in the NFL is "all about having answers."

There may be a one or two situations where the matchups and down/distance/circumstances dictate the need for a thumper who can move the pile between the tackles. Edge does it mostly with bounce and second effort. Hightower is more of a cutback slasher. JJ is a shifty speedy guy.

We really don't have anyone who can pound it - unless it's felt Timmy Castille or T-Smith can fill this role.

Not perfect, but that's the hand we've been dealt (& technically dealt ourselves). That said - it's probably enough to get us through the season successfully.

Q's first TD was an all out middle blitz that left the LB there #51 covering Boldin man to man with another player trying futilely to get there too. Kurt made a great play holding the ball long enough to let Q beat the LB and then delivered it right before he got smacked.

It's a total sell out gamble play if you don't get to the QB it's a guaranteed open Wr, they didn't get there, Kurt found the open player, TD.

The long one to Fitz was a jump ball that Fitz made a great play on and long run after that wasn't really on their coverage just a great throw and catch.

The 3rd TD to Q was the same thing Kurt threw into triple coverage it whistled right by a DB that was turned around and Q caught it. Just a perfect throw a few inches either way and it's batted down or picked.

It was a heck of a catch too. The ball was behind him with a lot of heat and he just snared it. From Kurt's comments in the paper this morning, I couldn't tell if that is where he was trying to put it or not.

Agreed great catch. One of those plays when you're going well it's a TD when you're not it's picked and you wonder why he threw into triple coverage.

He just has confidence in his Wr's right now and why not.

That’s what continues to amaze me when watching athletes play this game… I never get sick of it.

To put that ball into such a small window in the four dimensional plane, is just plain sick… and to have only one individual come away with it too boot has got to break some law of physics you would think.

Another one I witness live that comes to mind was that Viking post-season killer Josh McCown slung over to Nate Poole a few years ago… absolutely no other place in the space-time continuum that ball could’ve landed. I think that play alone set records for cases of Moosehead sold in one afternoon in the Greater Twin Cities area.

He has no role right now. Tim is the short yardage guy and good out of the backfield. We have 2 FB's, and there are better options on special teams so JJ is inactive.

Eventually he may be needed on KO returns or something like that but right now I think him being inactive is the right decision the way the team wants to play.
