There's always been some debate the #9 pick in the 2002 draft was really the draft pick that was acquired from the Orlando Magic in the Bo Outlaw trade. I know the media always says it was. Wasn't there somebody on this message board who actually called the Phoenix Suns about this though? I thought I remembered that they were told that the Suns really did not have to give that draft pick to the Magic even before that trade was made.

Anybody remember this?

Thanks,
Joe

I remember that for sure.

Also, a couple weeks after I emailed Bob Young about his artcile on it he put a formal retraction in a little blurb in the sports page. So I would assume he talked to someone about it and was told the Suns had the pick regardless.

Yes, I called the suns twice and was told both times that the number 9 was their pick. The next year was the year they had to give their pick to Orlando.

Trades changed that also.

I also e-mailed Bob Young and he sent me back an e-mail that was so much giberious (spelling) that you could hardly figure out what he was saying.
It was long, and he tried to explain his way out of it with misunderstandings on the part of others than him.......
